Is a relic worth it?

No.

It has zero way to do it solo, and the time investment is pretty insane for a single weapon and I have all jobs to 80 so I'm not doing it.

Especially when you consider you could invest roughly 12 days in the Ex roulette and have enough tomes to get a better weapon.

or try Emerald EX for more RNG based approach.

or spend 80K-130K on an HQ 510 weapon from the market board.

It's extremely future proofed from what I've seen. You can get most of the memories you need quite quickly in the BSF which has NPCs fight with you in fates, or alternatively by doing open world fates, dungeons and alliance raids, which are easy to do thanks to the duty finder. I've been in BSF alone for 3 hours before just farming fates and mobs on my own to get what I need, so all the fates scaled to 1 person.

If any of the steps are not achievable in the future I'm sure they will make that possible, like they did with previous relics that were made significantly easier.

I like the look of many. Glamour is the true endgame after all.

It isn't extremely grindy and it looks cool. It is 100% worth it.

The current expansion's relic is always BIS for the final patch of the expansion. It doesn't reach that level until then. Before then, it is just a really good weapon. Right now it's a 515, when, as a casual player you can have a 520. You are not likely to have more than one 520, though, and you can make multiple relics for different jobs, so it's nice if you have more than one at 80.

If you do Savage you can get your 520 weapon to 530, and if you can beat the final savage you have a shot at an i535 weapon, so a relic is nothing more than a glamour if you can do that--at least until the final patch where the relic will become 535.

But if you're only doing casual content and have plenty of time on your hands, relics are a fine choice.

Even though I do Savage, I always do relic grinds each expansion anyway, because I like having the glamour options.

I got mine done in 4 days, and that wasn't even playing 24/7. Mileage may vary. Time wasn't the issue. The issue was having to run old raids ad nauseum that we've been doing for years already just to get a leg up on RNG, which didn't make it particularly fun. I would have preferred to have done it all in Bozja from start to finish.

am on my third relic weapon and it gotten a lot easyer to do of the three quests after the first relic you only have to do two of them the first and last and the drop rate in palace of the dead has gotten a lot better to finnish out the weapon and if you have to redo the stats just go buy some aeterial sealant from npcs with poetic

Amen to that.

The fate RNG is horrendous for step 2 but considering playtime better than doing 36 raids. It's quite a sore spot for me atm because i have numerous alts and have to suffer through this step multiple times. And yes relic is worth it to me. I've done all of them and in spite of the haters I loved Eureka. Not being able to do all of the relic in zone is bad in my view and should actually be easier to finish there than some of the current metrics that make it easier to do outside.
