Is Crystal Data Center bad?

As someone that plays on the Crystal DC, here is my opinion:

It freaking sucks. I wish I knew how bad it was before making a character here. If you're someone that doesnt understand the appeal of RP, you will have a bad time. I almost never see a PF for anything other than selling content and stupid RP junk. I have found ut extremely difficult to find help for anything, because my posts are so far down the PD list that its tough to find. Ive contemplated quitting the game because of this DC, but decided I'm just going to transfer once my Road to 70 buff wears off.

You're not exactly at endgame so I don't see how this is a problem with Crystal specifically. Leveling and duty finder content is basically solo stuff. But if you think the grass is greener on the other side, then by all means.

I had a character at endgame on the Crystal DC, but took a long break from the game and decided to delete it and start fresh so I could see how the ARR revamp was. Also, I have a character in the Aether DC, so I know the grass is greener.

I'm leveling an alt on Marlboro and it's like night and day coming from aether.

I dont know crystal seem laden with a crap ton oob bots in town crafting. Think last night there were anywhere from 10 - 15 at goldsmith guild sitting under counter area there. The same at the arm and bsm guild in limsa. There are freaking everywhere. Fing ridiculous.


However each city state on crystal seems to be populated with players unlike aether where everyone hangs out in limsa regardless of the world you are in.

Honestly I have mixed feelings bit I would lean towards aether over crystal.

I'm from Byrnhildr, and I can tell you all ever since Server Merge that the quality of the raids have gone downhill.

and the number of raid parties on PF have gone downhill too.

Punishment served as of 10 mins ago. Whats fair is fair. In my defense, rating the poor quality bait in a titanmen thread is an insult to the concept of numbers in general so no offense was meant to the number 1. Hopefully it forgive me.

Well I left my old server shortly after the formation of Crystal. I think if you are into the more role play aspects of the game then Crystal is for you. If not, you probably don't want to be there. There's also a large amount of illegal RP there, which is why it gets such a bad reputation.

Yes, Crystal is horrible, OP should stay far away.

It's because of Balmung mostly. Before we even had the Crystal datacenter, Balmung was on Aether with us.

Just google: "What's wrong with Balmung?" or "What type of server is Balmung?"
