I really like that name and hope that is indeed the name. Most importantly, it doesn't start with S.

Well, just checked the US Trademarks system, TESS, and I do see that word registered by two companies, neither are Square Enix, and both are almost a decade old, with one of them being no longer valid. I Check what Square Has Registered recently, and frankly, I saw nothing to suggest a future Expansion. Unless ...

note doing further investigation, that is in their own words...

How are those the most recent trademarks?
Some are decades old.
Maybe something to do with shards due to the shattering glass motif of this year's Rising Event. Shattered Star would be cool.
Yes, I’m actually on the lookout of this myself. The expansion name is usually trademarked a year before the release around the time of The Rising event. Though like that other question, where does one actually check these trademarks?
As for my own guess of what the name would be, I think of something with finality, since the next expansion is supposed to end the Ascian arc... so I’m thinking GODSLAYERS.... I think it’s far fetched and not sure what an equivalent Japanese translation related to the ivory and white color would be but I can only take a stab like everybody else. Lol.
US Trademark office website, it's older BTW not optimized.

It'll probably be that Crossblade one. When they trademark a name over the summer it has always turned out to be exactly that. One blade representing the Alliance, one blade representing the Garlean empire. Very easy to discern. The question is if one blade is Zenos or if it is someone else who's going to be the villain of it.
