Mentors and Novice Network

Novice Network is currently just a discount global chat and is exactly what an actual global chat would become if one ever does become implemented.

I was under the mistaken impression that the 5.x extremes were included in the requirements, but they apparently aren't so yeah it's not a good gauge of a player's skill level overall.

I would not object to that being the case, though.

YOu can be a mentor without extremes and it does unlock mentor roulette, however to participate in the mentor roulette, you have to clear the extremes first.

Ahh I didn’t expect so many replies as I was ranting a bit!

Looks like my post was cut short but I wanted to correct that I do think you have to be invited to NN. However as a returner I was just placed back in there, and upon finishing returner I was given sprout and put back in. At no point have I seen how to leave it besides when people ask.

This is another point, I have multiple jobs at 70 but for some reason my viewpoints aren’t as valid as people who have a crown. I once interrupted when mentors were telling people it wasn’t viable to level a single trade job and I got I was wrong and told not to disagree with the mentors as a sprout. But I have all of those jobs at 70 and did so far more recently than they, who are still giving out the same info they did when you needed all the cross class skills.

And again, as someone with multiple levelled jobs who is just taking their time, why can one of these crowns kick me from the chat but I can’t kick them? They literally played the game longer than me, that’s it. We all pay sub, we all play the game. Why does levelling one crafter to 80 make you a chat moderator but levelling they all to 70 make your opinion worthless? Just do a global chat without the crowns and things.

Doesn’t the game only let you report for RMT? A few of us suggested the person should be kicked from NN (it’s a really big spoiler) but the mentors said it was too harsh and no one wanted to do it because regular poster there. Then kicked novice who complained about it

Mentor Roulette includes and requires you to clear all the extremes from the previous expansions, but not current extremes. It does require you to clear all other current content though, and each time a patch goes live, the new non-extreme duties need to be cleared before mentors can access the mentor roulette again. Once 6.0 hits, all the 5.x extremes will then be added to the mentor roulette and any mentors who did not clear them will have to clear them (as well as all 6.0 non-extreme duties) to access the mentor roulette again.

Do yourself a favor and just leave Novice Network. I don't miss my chat logs being flooded with random unrelated conversations, the overuse of uwu and seeing the same cliques converse with themselves while excluding others.

You have to use System -> Support Desk for other reports.
