Why is PVP not fun?

The problem is that it's so hard to even get matches and if you can't be on grinding it all the time you basically have zero chance of achieving any of them. Some nights I'll queue up and wait literally 2 1/2 hours for one match and some nights nothing pops.

In my opinion they should have a vendor with things like rare mounts and outfits and introduce a token system that let's you earn tokens to buy the items. Top 100 will get the reward and everyone else provided you participated in the season will get a few that can be saved to get a reward.

I feel like having something along those lines encourage people to participate and would at least give people reason to try it rather then people just not attempting PVP cause after the first week it's basically dead and you can barely get in. The Garo event regardless of what people though brought life back to PVP for a good chunk of time and they should really look at doing more events, hell even some sort of monthly challenge or something to get people active in PVP.

PvP isn't fun because >100 minutes in queue for PvP isn't fun. Fix the queue times. This will probably require changing to an 8x8 or maybe even 4x4 combat system. The big battles are a neat idea, but they just don't work when not enough people participate. Once queues become a barrier to participation, the problem is self-replicating & it all spirals down into the sewers.

It's not fun because the reliance of your rewards is so much more heavily dependent on everyone else knowing what to do in a mode that has no introductions/tutorials like pve has. Therefore, you can put in all the effort and more towards learning, being a better player, so on... but your team? Nah, they can do all else and frankly it won't matter in the end how hard you tried. No one likes being bound by a weak link. Unfortunately, with how pvp is, there is no option for 1v1's that are actually fun, instead it is in favor of making the rock paper scissors formula making every job as basic as can be. Not only that but it's much more toxic and petty.

What time are you trying to que? Faerie is an Aether world. Aether frontlines is great from about 3pm to 1am Eastern time every night. Only use the Frontline Daily Roulette to que unless it's Saturday night in which case you can que for Rival Wings too. Ques are fast, like 5 minutes.

Frontline is really not that fun anymore after they removed GC and forced everyone on freelancer. People hate random in PvE and I certainly hate it in PvP. The people you are getting is just disappointing. Although it is highly u likely but I really wish they reinstall the GC barrier. I personally would rather wait for 1o to 15 mins for a really good frontline match rather than crappy experience every 5 mins

The view point i confronted was that pvp since they changed it in stormblood has been too simplified, people just dont like that it doesnt take as much skill as back then. My point of view having never played hw pvp is , meh its alright , the reason i dont really get into it is cause i have alot of things to do already that give much more enticing rewards. I will say however if at any point they change their stance on being able to get older rewards by ranking up , i most definitely going to go spam the shit out of it. The hound attire and mounts are the sole reason i regret that i didnt buy this game earlier.

The thrill was gone long before Stormblood even. The nail in the coffin came in Heavensward. Can probably argue even just before that in ARR which was the last time I did PVP when it was fun until Square reversed it all and made it a blanket snore for everyone so all the true hardcore PvP'rs left. Sounds like from these posts that Square has continued to make bad choices in its design since 2014.

i like pvp

PVP has lost its appeal because they took out everything that made it appealing.

- No stats on gear anymore (so wolf marks are just for glam now and the occasional minion or whatnot)
- No unique moves for classes. I miss carnal chill.
- You can't queue for your grand company anymore.
- There's no Feast map beyond the Moogle one which feels very un-feasty and more like something that belongs in the Gold Saucer
- Frontlines matches feel monotonous. There's absolutely no reason to care because regardless of whether you win or lose, you'll still get SOME xp and SOME marks
- Feast queue times are abysmal if you're not on it 100% for the first 3 weeks after the season starts. Doubly so if you're not a healer or tank
- There's maybe a scrap of dev attention once every 10 patch cycles or something

I like playing it, I just wish some of the jobs I want to play were actually fun to play. Machinist feels so awful.
