New Relic weapon quest - are we down to 1 hour content already?

As far as I can tell there are no dyeable version of the base i80 job weapons

Reading this (at work, not tried yet) and Reading the patch note, my first thoughts are of ARR relics.

The initial questline for the relic probably takes about an hour too, but the upgrades in follow up patches were where the grind was.

I have a feeling that we got this because we are all supposed to be playing FFVII.

I don’t expect the next part until late July or possibly August due to COVID-19.

Honestly I'm fine with the whole relic being easy to get because 1) It's for all jobs and it takes long enough to get poetics anyways its easy but not instaquick and 2nd it's an alternative way of getting a decent weapon since the current entry weapon is i430 and the phantasgoria weapons are locked behind 4 runs of Titancart and you can't buy the tomestome item with tomes. Also at least gives me something to actually spend poetics on now as i've been capped for ages with extra just being wasted.

I'm rather disapointed that the dyable AF is locked behind trhe trial though I personally don't do extremes as i find it hard to get people for this and prefer small group or solo content myself, unless of course the weathered gear is upgradable after 5.3/5.35. Hoping the gear is at least upgradable to dyable versions later on as it's always been so and never locked behind an extreme trial in the past.

They did say they were going to do a blend of the quests this time around.


Also, knowing this player as, people were going to complain no matter what they did with it.

The devs could make the perfect content for everyone and people would still complain.

I think whats truly stunning is how THIS little scrap of cutscenes and one solo instance (that you never repeat) are what we had to pay with less content/dungeons for?

I mean, that would be something to see in comparison to "here's a long cutscene and yet another Ex trial to farm because we know everyone loves those!"

Anamos was flawed in several ways, but it was meaty in terms of the amount of content there. This does not stack up favorably, although I suppose it was probably a lot cheaper.

They have a field instance like anemos coming in the next step. This was just step 1.

Also, anemos wasn't really meaty content according to many people who loved to complain about it. It was just fate grinding which everybody hates.

I just find it funny that now that the new relic is out, and the grind isn't there yet, everyone suddenly loves eureka.
