You will find, however, users being excessively sympathetic to the point of absurdity.

Wouldn't lack of A/C be very bad for the servers?
I know that every company I've ever worked at that had a server room had to keep it nice and chilly to prevent equipment failure from excessive heat.
Besides, I'm not in such a rush to play that I would let others sacrifice.
I think I'll wait till things are pretty much back to normal with the power situation
So it's about that time eh?
Everybody get ready, Uldah is going to be a friggen madhouse.
Moreover; Thanks, SE.
Well, it's fairly cool right now, but I know keeping things cool in a corporate office is a challenge, so hang in there until the power situation straightens out! I'm glad they were able to find a solution that didn't increase their energy footprint to bring the servers back online, at least. Let's hope the power situation gets resolved quickly, at least so they can turn on A/C for the sweltering Tokyo summer.
I'm only commenting on what I've experienced here, and for the most part, people have been very understanding of Square Enix and Japan's dilemma.
That's not very sensible, but I'd hardly call that rage.
You are mistaken. :)
read the stuff fully, it also states if their stuff worsens it will be shuit off again. So don't hold your breath for an update till april or a fully up game till april.
If you notice in the official update, it states "Operating the servers for these services makes up 11.6% of the total power consumed by our Tokyo office."
I'd hazard a guess that Air Conditioning for the servers (separate from Air Conditioning the office spaces) is a contributing factor in the "11.6% of the total power consumed."
SE staff will have to use USB powered fans to keep cool. :( http://www.gadgez.com/wp-content/upl...09/usb-fan.jpg
