"when you're done butthumping Blizzard" You started it. Again you talk nonsense.....

You seem to have trouble understanding simple things, which is cool. A game has 10 million subs, what point are you making? "Average server population is 3-4k on most MMOs these days", FFXI hits that, with less than 10 million subs.
So again, how am I incorrect in stating that sub numbers mean absolutely in the long run to a player? No one said you'll be playing with 10 million people, but you make it as though that's what people should be expecting, when my whole point was huge numbers means nothing to the player because you will never in your career interact with them all ever, not even on official forums.
Well, you started saying how XI is going so strong and how WOW is in a decline making it sound like XI= super win and WOW= are dying when it is the other way around. I simply corrected you by saying that WOW is still 10 mil strong(which is almost as much as all mmo out there put together, that is 15$ X 10mil a month and 10 times the amount of players XI had in its best days. XI on the other hand never hits a good amount of pple online at any time lately. You probably play only with your LS so i see how this doesn't bother you.
regardless we weren't even talking about how it even matters or not, even tho it does as more players = more pple to play with. You just stated some random S$$# without checking if it was true or not and i corrected you in the rude manner you deserved.
EDIT: Oh and while we are talking how a lot of subs means nothing, it means tons of $$$ for S-E to support the game, hire more staff, bring more and higher quality content at a faster rate.
Low subs = the cie not investing too much into the game as it doesn't bring enough back.
I thought WoW was removing talent trees or something.. ?
Besides haven't the dev team said that in future we will get alternative jobs for each class, the community will always find the best way a class/job works so customisation isn't that important unless you want to be some special snowflake of course.
Even in WoW there are specific talents you are required to take if you want to be sufficient at the role, its not uncommon for people to shun players based on the talent builds.
I wouldn't mind more advanced jobs as a system for customization. Like at 50, your PLD can chose 2 advanced jobs, one that is focused on tanking and one for DPS instead. Something in these lines sounds cool, a bit like RO and different from WOW's talent tree that so many of you seem to hate.
WoW is in a decline, lots are bored with it (you say you play it, don't you? How do you not know this is a common sentiment about it?) XI is still going strong especially for a 10 year old game that released before MMOs became a common place and every company under the sun had their own.
You didn't correct me, WoW is still in a decline, if you even know that being in a decline means more than just losing subs.Quote:

Once again my server still hits 3k+ at peak time. Last I checked, I generally play in pick up groups because..-GASP- it's interesting to meet new people in an MMORPG...whodathunkit?Quote:

So you admit you're just an asshole for the sake it? Once again, you corrected nothing and you were the one to be corrected because when someone brought up FFXI was going strong and "WoW killers fall flat on their face" you basically stated it was a dead game and jumped on the "WoW is superior, WoW is going strong", thus my butthumping blizzard and WoW comment, because people who actually play WoW knows it's not going strong anymore. It has lots of subs sure, but is it really going strong? People are bored to death with it and a lot of recent changes and additions hasn't really resparked the fire for many.Quote:

More staff means less gets done, actually. Having 900 people on your team doesn't do anything that having 200 or less does. There's games out there created by only 1 person and it features more than games created by commercial teams of 100+. More money to a company means more money for the company to spend on anything regarding said company, i.e server costs, game projects and more.Quote:

They are, they're basically getting rid of the useless fat so to speak, but hey I don't play WoW supposedly, what would I know lol.
