Are you telling me you actually enjoy dungeons?
I'll be pretty disappointed if umbrellas are a mount since that would limit where it can be used significantly - I took this to mean we're finally getting some kind of idle animation that allows us to use an umbrella when it's raining, or a parasol.
This so much. I'm sure 90% of the population don't enjoy dungeons at all, since all they want is to get out of there as fast as possible to reap their rewards and be done with it.
And dungeons are content which becomes completely obsolete pretty fast. We have a load of them nobody does, it's always only the cap ones and the rest forgotten unless the roulette puts you there. If they can invest resources on content that may actually last over time (and imho all this plan on giving more crafting and gathering activities for all levels does just that, for example) I think it will be much better.
That's down to personal luck. If there really were "default dungeons", everyone would see the same pattern. We don't.
Your chances of getting particular dungeons are driven by two things:
1. What people are queuing for, and
2. What people have unlocked.
Everyone in leveling roulette has unlocked Sastasha. Most have unlocked Toto-Rak. Less have reached the upper levels, and those who have still only need one lower-leveled person out of four (or eight or twenty-four) to drag the whole group down again.
50/60/70 roulette is unlocked as soon as you have unlocked two dungeons from the list. For anyone rushing through MSQ and not picking up optional dungeons, that means either Snowcloak or Keeper of the Lake - two dungeons I see very frequently in the roulette. ARF is the third guaranteed addition to the list.
My experience with trials is much more varied. Ifrit is common, as is Susano.
When we had the Arboretum (Hard) as part of Experts, chances leant heavily towards that because everybody wanted the garden partition.
And my recent experience leveling a DPS 70-80 almost entirely through the leveling roulette is that as I approach the front of the queue I am quite likely to 'jump' several spots and get called into a Lv70+ dungeon - presumably because I'm the first person in the queue who is eligible for the spot they need filled.
To be fair, dungeons are basically useless once you get your 460/470 gear. I would much rather see them try new things (or fix current things i.e. Hrothgar/Viera) then to continue giving us garbage dungeons that do nothing other than expert roulette fodder. I am excited to try the new trials coming, and I am slowly getting all of my crafter /gatherers up to try the new content for them. I am also glad to see they are trying to make PvP more interesting, as I would love for it to be more popular than it is.
The only thing I hope for currently is better customization for Hrothgar specifically so I can be the cat dad I want to be.
