One of the struggles of Ultimate is the group. I’m staticless and my pug attempts have been awful. (I’m also bad)
But I’m not here to make excuses for my own shortcomings, I’m not really sure why you wanted to bring that up at all, but I only see less Necromancers than I do The Legends. Empirical data aside I’m sure we can attempt to verify my claim.
Also if nobody cared, we wouldn’t have this topic talking about it!

in the end, Ultimate is still just 20/15 minutes of static group jump-rope. Fancy jump-rope, but still just jump rope. As in "mechanic x happens, you do y", ect.
PotD & HoH are multiple hours of unpredictable endurance challenge against floor RNG and the duty timer.
So yeah, I'd say solo'ing deep dungeon is harder than clearing ultimate. Also there are a few thousands of players that have cleared ultimate (still less than 0,1% of the playerbase) while I doubt that there's more than 100 people that solo cleared deep dungeon (don't feel like actually adding up all Lodestone numbers)

Wow that's actually a first seeing this but still feels awful. Especially as it got mentioned: Actual legit people do this by working by their own to earn this title <__<

Also should mention this but if you check the date those two floor 100 people you can actually see who these two actually are. I hate this cause there is one I tend to watch their streams and now knowing that they do this I dont feel well to see them with the same aspect as I did before :x

The "use of an exploit" thing isn't really an "exploit". The "spin strat" has been a thing for years. SE has never once claimed it was an exploit or said there was anything wrong about. It's been used ever since ARR on a variety of content, including savage bosses. And it's actually pretty hard to do.

Imagine watching a stream of savage prog, and all people do is trying to spin the boss perfectly until they get the 100%-0% spin. Very good.

I'm not sure why the spin exploit even works because you'd think it would be laughably easy to make it so an enemy's AI script progresses regardless of whether it's actually moving/auto-attacking (It seems like they need to be doing one or the other).

But yeah. After failing miserably at a solo GNB attempt on floor 82 due to awful RNG I find this development particularly annoying. Sometimes the game just decides it doesn't want you to have a successful run.

It works due to an oversight on how cleaves & certain tank busters work on old bosses.

When the boss queues up a spin strat susceptible move, they need to rotate to face the player to execute it. While a boss has a mechanic queued up, they're unable to queue up other moves unless they're triggered by certain conditions. Now, old bosses have slower rotating speeds, meaning that if the player circles around them in a very specific way they can outpace the rate or stay equal with the rate the boss spins, meaning the boss can never execute the queued move, and since bosses are programmed to only have one move queued up outside of certain situations where they interrupt it, it leads to spin strat of doom.

So yeah, just an oversight of bosses only able to queue up one ability at a time combined with a slow rotation speed not letting them execute said queued skill. At least that's my understanding of it.

They've fixed it afaik by making modern bosses spin faster, or by making sure the boss doesn't need to be facing the player to execute their tank buster/cleaves.

Except.. that isn't at all how it works. You might get a drop for your weekly savage run and a page at best (assuming the boss doesn't animation cancel itself). But, blow it out of proportion if you want, I guess?

Also, there have been multiple streams of people progging savage using the spin strat. There are even multiple cases where people 100-0'd bosses with it, too, yes. Those people also clear the content in the "correct" way just as easily too. Spinning the boss isn't any different than kiting an enemy or running the boss to a specific spot in the arena to avoid mechanics.

Anyways, the spin strat has mostly been done away with at this point, because raid mechanics are now strictly scripted based on time instead of boss HP % or specific skills they use.

It has nothing to do with cleaves or tank busters. You can do it to an enemy that's only using auto-attacks if it's large enough.That's all it is, the larger the radius of an enemy, the longer it takes them to turn to face you. They get locked into their animation while queuing mechanics because the previous one hasn't been able to resolve due to the boss not being able to cast it.

And the issue is that previously nearly every boss's mechanics were dependent on specific HP% breakpoints, so spinning would completely stop their scripted rotation. Ever since Stormblood, raids have had mechanics based almost purely on time, so it doesn't work anymore except for targeted attacks from enemies. Nothing to do with how fast they spin.
