At the same time one Hq piece for some jobs costs even more soo....?

I mean for me personally it isn't a big issue, I just craft myself a set and be done with it, but looking at the summed price I was pretty shocked at how obscene the price gets for an average player, especially for the longevity, so you may as well just incorporate better gear into the class quests and save the whole ordeal of needing to buy it, or do several days of roulette; making people feel as though they're locked out or gated from it. Feels better to me if they just remove it from the scenario, and add it integral to the class quests. Or both.
It at least implies that you should know better than to queue into content missing literally half of your gear. It may not be a reflection of skill, but you can’t claim “I didn’t know it mattered to wear appropriate gear” when you have multiple jobs leveled to the max.
The only thing I could see being worse would be people whining and complaining that they can't advance the story, because they are "locked" out of the dungeons they need to do to progress the story. These players are usually extremely undergeared - they don't do sidequests. I remember seeing several when ShB first came out. They were complaining that they couldn't do the dungeons because they were underlevel as well.
I don't think they get kicked as much as you would think. If they are an extremely undergeared DPS people probably won't even notice, or rather, people won't even care. People are so bad at this game that even the ones that have appropriate gear are doing such terrible DPS that it's the norm.
A full set of augmented gear + weapon costs a decent amount of tomes, and a lot of these players won't bother gathering the amount needed.
If you have multiple 80's, you should know better. Enough is enough.
I don't know if anyones noticed or it's just me, but at least SHB dungeons, mobs have huge HP and runs take quite a while
even if you have decent gear. So imagine with far below optimal gear. It's players being lazy and not using the NPCs to gain equips.
There is 0 excuse.
The players SerLuke and the OP brought up generally have multiple jobs at level cap, which means they aren’t doing the MSQ at this point. If they’re leveling alt jobs, they’re probably doing dailies at some point for the EXP from them. So, where are their tomes going? Because getting poetics for Ironworks/Shire/Scaevan gear isn’t hard...yet they’re still showing up missing half of their gear? Or wearing pieces from two expansions ago in Shadowbringers dungeons?
I'll tell you the reason these people with several lvl 80 jobs dont have gear. They likely dont have that many tomes. They likely are just spamming mostly potd and hoh and pvp(this is what ruins most pvp matches) to get levels without having to purchase gear.Once they've done all that they are hopping into for example dungeons like holminster at lvl 71 in lvl 70 job quest gear which is ilvl 290.
They are too cheap to spend tomes on gear or buy equipment even though they probably have millions of gil.
And why all of this you ask?Because they think they can get away with it and will force others in df to carry them.Until a proper system is in place the best option is to kick them.If the kick doesnt go through just leave the instance. But most importantly do not carry them through the dungeon and encourage this kind of behaviour.
If people want to play like this they should make premade with their fc and have their fc mates or friends carry them in 4 man parties.
Deep Dungeon starts giving poetics after level 50 (not a whole lot, like 30 per run, but that's still more than the 0 you'd be getting from other leveling dungeons aside from duty roulettes, and it does still add up with the sheer number of runs you need to do if DD is your only leveling method) so even that's not a good excuse.Quote:

Idk what pvp matches give but I know they also start giving poetics after level 50, and it's unaffected by your actual performance in the match so as long as you manage not to get kicked from the party you're still going to get tomes that way too.
