I would love this, I enjoy any time I can whip out my path companion. They have some interesting style and personalities, though the AI leaves some to be desired.
Would have to be highly limited though, like 1-2 uses every leve reset, and SP penalty of course, just to give you an edge on those really annoying leves.

In the end all I really want is adventuring fellows again, easily my favorite aspect of XI. Was great leveling them up with friends, and gearing them up, doing the story-lines etc. Like raising your own pokemon. Actually I have no idea what pokemon are or how they operate, so that's probably false
