I agree, it's pretty terrible now. I think it was perfect before, especially the gunfire sound that Solid Barrel made. Now it just sounds like we're hitting things with a blunt object. Very very much a downgrade and I'm personally very irritated by the people who requested a change, they had it right the first time. :(
While I wouldn't have complained about the first iteration of the sound effects, I definitely prefer the new sound effects. I suppose they could be further improved, but I don't find them as meh as their first attempt.
I don't like the new GNB sound effects. It sounds less impactful and like I'm swinging a blunt weapon instead of a blade. Also, the volume is kinda too low. During busy fights, you can hardly hear your own 1-2-3 weaponskill combo sound effects. I do not like these changes, please adjust it.
The only sounds that needed adjusting on GNB were the explosions for the cartridge combo and fated circle, I don't know why they tampered with the rest of it, the ringing steel sounded fine, standard combo sounds like you are hitting shit with a whiffle ball bat and it sucks.
One step forward, two steps back I suppose.
Request: Could we maybe make it so we can actually hear the explosion sounds on a few more of these cartridge- (i.e. explosion-) based weaponskills?
Devs: Whoever doesn't speak up now to correct this reasonable request consents to having the entirety of their weapon characteristics sounds changed to that of a blunt weapon.
???
Also, in what world is silence necessarily approval?
I play my lvl70 GNB and the sounds are fine. At least now the Gunblade is properly used - Before I thought my Char doesn't find the trigger.
But hey, that's how it is, you can't satisfy everyone.
I don't like how same-y and dull the new ones sound. The old ones were more crisp and clean, which fit well with the blade being pretty short in general.
Now it just sounds like I smack things with a rifle.
