if you get 107 comm over 4 years then maybe the problem is you, i play roulette as SMN, i never greet anyone when we arrive, never thank anyone upon complete, infact i rarely chat in duty finder to avoid piss some random ppl, i just doing my job, clear all big pull as much as possible and doing rotation on boss, and i feel that i alway get atleast 1 comm when we finish the dungeon, sometime all 3 comm
and i forget to mention that i never comm on anyone over the past 2 years that i play since i play on PS4 with controller and comm someone with controler feel so uncomforable
I mean, if you're anything in dungeon like in this post I can see where the problem is
Drama over commends is so weird, it's not a valuation of your skill, 99% of the time. It's simply usually given to tank/healer unless it's someone who has made a decision to give to DPS only. It's just another achievement currency to farm lmao. Seriously, don't get bent out of shape if you don't get them because usually I think 7/8ths of the party is great but it's not like I have 7 commends.
Comm system is fine, I have over 1000 of them tbh I have never even bothered finding out what they are used for but I do give people who deserve a comm one at the end of an instance if someones a silent asshole who just needs on everything I won't even bother.
Dang, that's why we got male Hrothgar and female Viera only, they were too busy checking something as drastically important as the commendation system...
...which is totally alright as it is to be honest.
Been playing for 4+ years and got 1428 comms. It's not that much, considering I don't main a tank and/or a heal. I like playing DPS but sometimes being nice, explaining mechs and playing your role works just fine.
I guess there must be some other reasons why you're not getting comms. I wonder what it is...
OP, you're likely the problem here.
I play DPS often and I tend to get at least one commendation per dungeon/trial/raid.
And I don't talk with people at all mind you.
If you only have 107 in four years then you need to look at how you are doing in dungeons. A few tips below that will help.
1. Be polite, say hello at the beginning, thanx for the run at the end. If people have querstions answer them if you can, it goes along way. Being the silent player that says nothing and doesn't help with mechanics or advice asked for is a surefire way to no comms.
2. Don't call people out over every little thing, mistakes happen in dungeons, sometimes people don't have the greatest gear because they can't afford it,sometimes they have to afk cuz something pops up irl.
3. If something is needed to be said because things are failing alot and it needs to be addressed, how it is handled is key. Going off on one about it, having a go at people ect is gonna mean no comms. On the other hand saying lets go over the mechanics so we can clear this and just calmly explaining it and making sure everyone understands will net you most of the comms from the run, cuz your the one that helped and got problems fixed.
4. Play you class best you can, sitting there spamming a couple of abils as a dps instead of doing full rotations, loosing agro alot as a tank, or just doing nothing instead of throwing out a bit of dps as a healer when you got nothing to heal and plenty of mana, are all good ways to end on the no comms list.
5. Premades cannot commend each other, even if four of you grouped up and entered an 8 man trial, the four that grouped before joining cannot comm each other. Streight up pugging it means more comm chances than group joining.
6. Don't need roll on things you do not need, people who roll need on everything they can even if they have better never get a comm from me. Nothing worse than seeing a level 70 player synced in a 30 dungeon rolling need on stuff others in the group actually do need as an upgrade.
I have played in total just over a year and i have 816 comms. I get comms playing as dps, healer and tank simply because i follow what i listed above.
I don't get comms every simgle run, but i get em often enough to keep it growing.
I would like to have maybe a weekly allowance of 14 or so extra comms to give out beyond the 1 per instance we have now. There have been times that everyone in the group has been exceptionally good and I feel bad picking one person knowing at least one of them probably got 0 comms but still deserved one. Separately, as an altoholic that has their own comms spread across multiple characters, this is yet another reason I want achievements and collectables account wide. It may be multiple characters, but I'm still the single person playing them all and spending my time to earn things.
