Brd most likely will equip bow in main hand and flute harp off hand, harps and flutes made mainly by crp and gld . This is what makes the most sense. I hope its like so.

ARC now has a chocobo mazurka spell, its obvious you don't need an instrument to play music.

Well as of now, Brds can only have one song active at a time (presumably by singing). I think it would be cool if in the future Brd gets an ability to transform their bow into a harp, allowing them to have two song effects active at once. They wouldn't be able to shoot arrows in this state, though. Just make the ability have a short recast time so you can use it, get your songs up, then use it again to transform back to the bow and keep shooting. This also makes sense because it could be seen as one song from your singing and the other song from your instrument.

I'd hate to necro bump but I believe bard will probably be a little more musicly inclined in the future. Swiftsongs animation did get an upgrade this patch. But thats not my point
My point is will we be getting instruments to use as sub weapons in addition to our AF songbow? I think the song bow is just a themed weapon, instruments are still to come.
Look at the bard concept art, he is holding a Clarinet or whatever.
