Consoles? Like a terminal attached to a Mainframe computer? Not accessible at all, unless you worked for someone that owned one, or the manufacturer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeli...0%E2%80%931979
Home game consoles didn't appear until the early 70's
I built my first computer, an Imsai 8080 around 1975 (Kit of parts, had to solder everything) And I still have it, but it doesn't run. Storage for it was paper tape, then 70KB floppy disks. No commercial software available other than the OS. http://oldcomputers.net/imsai8080.html
I know exactly how you feel, Iam 30 and I cant find any people in my age. Im always the "oldest" )= most people I know are 20-25, which makes me the odd one sometimes because, idk, I guess interests etc arent rly the same.
As a completely unrelated note, this combination of letters is so confusing to me. In SW:TOR the difficulties for raids were Story Mode (SM), Hard Mode (HM) and Nightmare (NM). Here it seems to usually mean Normal Mode, but I've also seen it used for Notorious Monster in the context of Eureka.
I'm referring to normal mode encounters. Granted, it's pertains mostly to Alliance and 8-man raids. When I go into these things blind and at the minimum ilv requirement, I get KO'd a LOT. In HW, A11N and Dun Scaith were quite humbling, and the same can be said for O11N and Orbonne in this expansion. I'm better at them now, but learning to stay on my feet during these encounters even with a higher ilv definitely took me some time.
Yeah sorry wasn't online; about to go on though so I'll try add you. If not feel free to keep trying to add me as well. XD
I wish it was easier to add people from different servers. And perhaps a different datacenter friend list as well.
You give me hope that I can continue to play video games for as long as I want.
I love old computers; especially those first ones that filled entire rooms! But yeah... normal folks couldn't own those.
Yeah its annoying; well if we ever end up in the same party feel free to add me. Odin and Lich are going to still be on the same datacenter.
I just turned 30, but I am the oldest in my group among my friends. Would like to make friends with older people or people
I'm reminded of a time when I asked my aunt, who is in her late 60s, why she thought The Big Bang Theory was so funny, and she answered with, "Because they're grown men who play video games." I gently reminded her that I am a grown man who plays video games.
To her generation, video games have always been toys for children, and the marketing of especially the '80s and '90s worked way to hard to reinforce that notion. As far as I know, the majority of gamers have always been in that 18-34 range, which makes sense considering which demographic has that magical combination of free time and disposable income. I'm not surprised that there are so many of us (relatively speaking) in our 30s playing FFXIV. After all, we grew up with games, they've grown up with us, and we generally aren't too put-out by a monthly subscription fee.
