If you look at where the discussion started, you can see that it started because one of Eureka's complaints can be applied to all the content of the game which is simply to attribute a problem that has the whole game to an area.
I hate the grinding of Eureka but I love that it is the only area where the community of the game feels a true community and not a lot of people who only talk with their group of friends.
True community? Healers ignoring dead people and walking past them because **** them, people with a group of friends to do Eureka won't ever talk with anyone else, and if someone joins a random party it's because you either join a party or you can't do anything at all. Atleast Eureka in Europe shows the worst of the community, selfishness at it's finest.
A true community is not the same as an ideal community. A chat always of people saying where to go or move, people who offer their mounts to take people, others who revive people when they go to an area, people who go to other points of the map to do rezz to others. Even in Anemos I have seen people offering partys to help low levels to level up.
Like I've seen people insulting others for not helping spawn NMs. And it is something that will ALWAYS happen because there is no ideal community even in events where the support of all was essential to unlock content (the openings of the doors of AQ in Wow)
it's rare when people don't help in my experience in these zones and I've leveled a number of toons in them. It's also unusual for a community to come together in an open world environment other than for hunts perhaps and this content is cross server which makes it pretty special in my opinion. You rarely get conversation in dungeon environments other than hello/good morning and ty for the party.
It doesn’t. Don’t let ppl lie to you bc those ppl have probably not had horrible RNG and have gotten the good loot. Personally I’ve never ever received a good coffer. And I’ve farmed for 3 instances everyday until the next area. And When I finish this last area I’ll probably try again with no success. Sigh. I hope SE does right by making the gear buyable with tomes in 5.0 bc if not this this will be the least used glam ever. I still see HW relics and AF gear.
My issue with Eureka and its "carrot at the end of a very long stick" reward prospect is that it's not the kind of gameplay I signed up to this game for.
I tried out this game, and decided I enjoyed the dungeon-focused gameplay. It's somewhat grindy but in a way I don't mind.
And then comes Eureka. "Here's some new and exciting content that you'll need to spend hours and hours on, in a totally different gameplay format to the rest of the game! Isn't it awesome!"
...um, no. This isn't the game I signed up for, except somehow it has chunks of that game locked up within it. Gear, weapons, a whole storyline that ties into the MSQ. And the devs seem to think that I'll automatically enjoy it just because it's part of the game I do like, even though its functionally different.
If I wanted to do an old-school RPG grind (which I don't), I would play an old-school RPG.
