I hope we get more Anima in 5.0

Yes and no. Grinding tomes or completing a dungeon for Anima, you needed people to some degree. To beat a dungeon / primal. There was player interaction for "light" bonus, and you would make parties to farm light. You could do some on your own (sand for instance) but most of it was partially multiplayer.

You can actually go very far on your own in Eureka... not in Anemos, but you can farm light / XP on your own in Pagos, Logos system in Pyros allows you to do that too. And it's quite efficient.

I'll agree with you on the pace though; Eureka sets a pace that most people follow. But I see people coming just now in Anemos / Pagos, catching up quickly and doing just fine.

I actually really like that in Eureka I can just "do relic".

Like, it's point is to "do the relic". I don't have to grind old DNGS, I don't have to farm tomes that are either outdated by now or were worth something back then, I don't have to do things that give me next to zero reward other than progress. With Eureka, though it has many flaws, you can at least do something different in a new area.

That's because it's been nerfed to the ground and continues to be nerfed, and after not too long after release either. It's telling, imo. And I still worry because even in an instance of like 10 people and Louhi supposedly being synced down, we wiped horribly to it. Good luck doing that solo.

but that's... all you do in Eureka? You grind light, exp, and crystals. Everything in there is geared towards your progression. Lockboxes are not only gated behind a tons of RNG, but you're also incorrect about getting 'only progress' from running other forms of content. You could farm glamour while you were at it, or minions. Basically the same thing you do in Eureka, only there if you ran it solo you didn't have to fight the entire instance for a bunny, whose chest would most likely give you materia you don't need.

The relic weapon has become a excuse to release terrible content now. They figured it out with diadem and those aether weapons.

Players will play the most awful content possible content if the ilvl is raised even by a little bit. I mean, the only time the relic weapon was fun to do, was right at the start of 2.0, and that's about it, it has always been hidden behind boring grindy meaningless and arbitrary methods of acquisition that barely pass as "content".

So, do not hold any hopes, whatever excuse of "side content" we get in 5.0, considering the diadem and eureka, will probably be awful and the relic will be the bait most will get hooked by.

Maybe its cause I'm coming at this as someone who started doing my anima weapon recently as a level 70. If I wanted any glam from those dngs I woulda already farmed them when I was in my 50s.

My main problem with it is that it has so many moving parts to it. I got my war axe up to hyperconductiontive or w/e in 3 days ... Not because I'm awesome but because I started the pld weapon and before tossing all my hard earned 4 big peotic grind items towards advancing it I decided to do drk. Worked on that and found that drk sucks compared to the other tanks rn. Left all those mats in my inventory for like a year until I decided to do war and was shocked at just how much work I already had done. Now I have to go back to farming poetics for sand and I honestly hate doing super old content for outdated tomes.

I only recently started eureka after getting to level 4 the week it came out and dropping it. They've made the leveling much more streamlined. I no longer feel like I have to afk around level 20s in a train to get levels. Went from 4 to 13 in like 2 or 3 days of lite visits, grouping up with 1 random player around my level to help with clogs.

I personally find this set up more enjoyable then my current quest in getting the hw relic.

Oh, and like I said I know eureka has many flaws. It's not prefect by any means. Like how its a roll of the dice on if you're gonna get some one around your low level in there who is willing to farm clog over afk nm train riding. First day back was a struggle going at grinding solo or with the pld I found. .

But it does have things locked behind it that makes it more rewarding.

I personally liked 3.x relic weapon because there was an actual story and not it being side content to eureka. Plus there were no real time constraints on that relic. In Eureka you have to invest at least 30 minutes a day to make any real progress on the relic weapon. Whereas with 3.x all i had to do is run a trial or a dungeon to make even the smallest progress.


What was great about the last 2 relics where they had an actual story to them and they also had multiple ways to progress. Eureka is just the opposite with only 1 way to progress and massive time sink in one sitting to get real progression. The other 2 relics also were relevant to the current ilvl while Eureka relic is always 2 steps behind.

im sure there are better ways to make a relic quest line other than having us farm the same content AGAIN we farmed to death in arr and hw

I'd think that rather than farming content, simply having a checklist would be great.

Something like do every FATE currently in the game as an overall objective would be neat, and a great way to populate the zones. Because of the amount of time this would take, it could be its own step entirely.
