I don’t run on melee or even casters, but I honestly find o10s to be the least favorite of mine from this tier. It just feels too slow, and I don’t really mind the RNG of things like in/out or cardinals/corners or even the Exaflares, but the fight itself just feels so slow. And the add phase can literally die in a fire—I really hate fights where I have to go an entire half minute without even being able to target the boss because he’s doing divebombs.
I know the Ultimates have phases like this, but at least they’re also vomiting mechanics at me.
That image should be in greyscale for maximum effect.
I think they knew the fights pacing was slow. Thats why the music isnt super up beat but kind of slow. It's great music and matches the fight's speed, but thats the problem in that regards. Feels like hte fight takes forever.
And IMO, the funniest part about the fights mechanics is I heard through the grapevine a lot of people hated how scripted fights were, so it sounds an awful lot like SE was like "Aiite, you guys hate scripted fights, heres some RNG to spice things up."
I guess because I play melee, I'm always moving around and don't really notice how sluggish the fight is. I do hate the add phase and the "dodge this!" phase immediately after. I also don't get why Midgardsormr is untargetable for 3-5 seconds after landing.
I also want to try Ultimate, but I don't have the time to do it :(
the only, conditional, point you make.
Is it okay to parse grey? Yeah sure.. for your first few clears. A kill is a kill, after all.
But if you're on your 7th or so week and still parsing grey and not showing improvement? That's cause for concern.
If you aren't willing to improve, that's a red flag even more severe than the former.
But, this is all down to the people running the show. That stance is mine. I'd rather take someone whose parses are all grey, but each one shows steady improvement, than someone who for the 7th week in a row is parsing sub-15th percentile.
And the whole "beating yourself up for 'underperforming' will not help you" line is incredibly inaccurate. "I suggest always trying to improve..." Yes, good, good; "...but never ever let anyone tell you you're bad because yada yada garbage." Yeah nah. If you can be doing better, and want to improve, then having it be pointed out where you can improve is not bad. The HOW of the message matters, yes, but not the message itself. If you just brush off and dismiss any and all critiques and criticisms of yourself, in a group setting, you're hindering the group as well as your own personal growth.
Best of all that applies to all aspects of life, not just "muh vidya gaemz"
I know my threads have a past history of being about grey this, grey that, but this certainly isn't one of those threads. But for the sake of addressing this, I do not agree with your stance on greys. Imma just leave it at that, because I don't want to turn this into a debate.
I mean if you're grey you actually cleared the fight. Which is already more than 90% of players at minimum so congratulations.
Same! I’m still working on my Foe’s timing there, since my group reopens when he lands, and it’s annoying to think I’ve timed it right but still lose a tick (or, to time it too late and reopen a GCD late ;w; ).
With regards to the sluggishness, I guess it’s because he’ll be like “Okay, I’m going to do a spin”, and then auto; “Okay, here’s my tankbuster”, and then auto; “Okay, now I’m going to do my other spin/flip”, and it just feels really slow to me. Idk. ;w;
I really hope you find the time to do it some day. It’s a lot of fun!Quote:

Though this is really taking away from the question that I had originally asked, I like seeing self-improvement. I just wasn't listening before, as has been pointed out for about a year now before I got my head out of my ass and actually used the tools correctly. Grey may be fine for some, but for somebody who knows they are capable of more, it wasn't enough. And sure enough, when I actually listened and applied what was being told to me, I started to hit green on a consistent basis. That being said, the whole point of me asking my question was to confirm my observations with other raiders and get some general suggestions, which will be applied in the next run on this particular fight. Not to get into a debate about greys vs average.
