EDIT: Thanks to the audience at Fanfest, there will now be fish lore for the "king" version of the Liopleurodon fish which involves it eating Namazu, then forcibly evolving itself to eat Lalafell.

It will be called The Vegetarian.

(This is actually a thing. Koji Fox says he will force this into the game by any means.)

I kind of doubt we'll actually see history repeat itself at the source, but I'm expecting that we'll have to travel to the shard that was consumed by light for one reason or another.

That said, I'm again feeling concerned about the story pacing in Shadowbringers if it's split between two very distant regions.

This traiiler reminds me of how so many plot threads surrounding the War of the Magi were left unexplained compared to the collapse on ancient Allag or the Fall of Dalamud. For example, while Tiamat directly implicated the Ascians' role in the Fourth Calamity, it was never clearly indicated what the Bringers of Chaos were doing during the conflict between Amdapor and Mhach. Likewise, why were these Elementals so afraid of those statuary in Amdapor, to point of having the Warrior of Light go investigate the ruins? What even triggered the War of the Magi at all?

Now we see both the Kuribu and that lion thing in this new trailer.....is Kuribu to a Void of Light what the Cloud of Darkness was to a Void of the Dark?

Kuribu is the final boss of Lost City of Amdapoor HM. Same thing with the Stone Lion. They are both just enchanted statues.

There is no such thing as light Voidsent, since a Flood of Light leaves nothing living in it.

The lion in the trailer still looks like an animated statue, but Kuribu looks like an actual being that the Amdapori statue was representing.

Did she? Mentioned they were involved with creating Primal Version Bahamut, but that's not what triggered the Calamity.

Also, the Cloud of Light is the counterpart to the Cloud of Darkness in FF lore, but I suppose it could easily be different. Granted, with things shifted so much towards the light, the creatures biased towards it could just be that much stronger now.

I went through the same thought process. "Oh, Unukalhai is finally going to be in MSQ-- [camera angle changes] ...no wait, that looks like a girl."

Unless that's just how he looks in cutscenes. There seems to be very little difference between genders for the "child" NPC models.

The Gremlin is a mob type that shows up most prominently in the Lost City of Amdapoor. The Lion and Kuribu are both bosses in the Lost City of Amdapoor HM.

We know for sure that there is no such thing as light Voidsent.

So whatever Kuribu might have been based on, it's not something from a "Light Void" because there isn't anything in a "Light Void". Also, the Kuribu statue is from the time of the 6th Umbral Calamity which was around... 1600 years ago. None of the Shards had been Flooded with Light yet so there wouldn't have been any such thing as "Light Void". In fact, there still isn't anything as a "Light Void" if everything went as planned on the First Shard.

Probably my favorite touch in the trailer is that the Gremlin is using Bad Mouth to inflict Misery on WoL. Its just, it humors me.

looking a the trailer myself i think we will have a battle with garlemald and Elidibus-zenos and we may win this results in a surge of light as the source has lost both its high ranking ascians disrupting the balance we then have Zodiark with little choice but to commune with us and try to restore balance before everything gets lost.

As for the child i think its a child minfilia or has minfilia like gifts Thancred seems close enough to hold her hand though i know is a way to hurry along with danger around the hand seems more of a connection than grabbing an arm
