Hmm, well thanks for the offer. I'll definitely have a think about it. :)
I don't want to commit to anything immediately however.

Ah well, I only actually applied to one Linkshell and we mutually agreed I wouldn't fit in, I was pretty much looking for people to party with and occasionally chat but they wanted a tighter community, I have nothing against that I just wasn't willing to commit at the time. Never really applied again after that, I'm happy soloing the only thing I feel I'm missing out on is I've had 'It Kills with Fire' sat in my quest log for a long time and I don't really chat much with people.
But I'm hoping that the move makes it easier to find a group I fit with during the flurry of activity that is bound to surround servers joining.
Hi there !
Something need a correction.
Roganoken talk about himself and maybe his linkshell but saying that "almost half of the french community" is not moving to 10 is absolutely untrue !
There is alot of the French Community moving to Ragnarok. Yes there is still some discussion and some people are not ready to chose if they are moving or not. But there is definately a significative number of French players going to Ragnarok !
Best regards,
Arek
One misconception I often read is to think that ragnarok will become an EU only server but this is absolutely untrue ! Europeans peoples need NA and JP people because nobody want a limited server, they want a worldwide international server.
So why a recommended Server for EU people ? Because even if peoples can communicate in english , most players feel better when they have their own language speaking community for the everyday life .
In a large majority, JP peoples join JP linkshell, NA peoples join NA LS, german/german LS, french / French LS...but it never mean that they'll never play with the others communities.
Europeans players are a very little minority of ffxiv players ( maybe they would not fill more than 30 or 40% of a server ) and are scattered with few players on every server, So they need to reunite a little more for enjoying more the game .
Remember that if you have decided to move to Ragnarok you can add your linkshell or your name to the census ;)

For people who are interested in this world it's nice to have an idea (even if it can't be exhaustive) of who they could join if they decided to settle in Ragnarok.
The more people would post, the more it will be usefull ^^
Furthermore, this is a brand new world, with a brand new community, and it can be pretty exciting to see it born and grow with each new post :o
By the way, if you want to have a peek at the french census : click here !
Thanks, and have fun ! No matter where you go :)

I'm from North America and I'm considering a move to Ragnarok.
One of the reasons my interests have been piqued is that the language barrier is probably thinner than I was initially expecting. I've noticed a lot of players on the English forums learned English as a second language and they choose English as their common language. As a native English speaker I don't think I'll have as many problems as I may have thought, and as an NA player I'm okay because I have Mondays and Tuesdays off of work. I'll be playing when everyone else in my timezone is working, and if I get the inkling to do some early morning gaming on my days off I'll have a community to pool from.
I'm also intrigued with other cultures and like the diversity that Ragnarok may bring. On top of that, if it doesn't work out I may get a second chance to move to another server.
Besides, Ragnarok is a cool name too...
