Suggestion to SE (Housing)

Well, that's the thing. Most people still trying to get a plot are, at this point, just trying to anything, -something-, and they wait around for exorbitant amounts of time for it. However, it's one thing when someone relocates to a plot because it's the plot they've been waiting and have the money to relocate to it. It's quite another when players are obviously doing it to purposefully make those people have to wait even more time, or for the purpose of selling their relocation to someone else. And, btw, you can make a LOT of money selling your plot still via relocation. I've seen posts (and not even on Balmung, though Balmung will fetch premium price) for 20mil or more just for a plot in the -Goblet-.

Oh yeah, let me address this one too. This is a BS line of reasoning, and very unrealistic to tell anyone. That's like me telling you "Don't like your life? Go get another one". Because that's basically what most anyone would be giving up leaving their home server to go to a non-congested one. We have friends, people we -like- playing this game with on our home servers, and we actually LIKE being there regardless of how congested it gets. You don't just up and throw that away. Well maybe -you- do.

I am on Balmung it was a thing, however the proposed fix is not a fix. My friend knows someone that got suspended for ranting about it in a bug ticket for cursing and overall using aggressive language to SE in regards to the situation.

Well, cursing and ranting directly to SE about it using strong language isn't ever a way to get one's point across. There's a tactful way an authority must be addressed in order to be heard. That said, you think my fix isn't a fix? How so? I'm also open to other options, like limiting the number of times a single player can relocate in a given time, like someone suggested earlier.

And yet you obviously are ignoring the obvious and propose fixes that would break things for the rest of us.
Get off your pedestal and start thinking rationally..and you may get somewhere.

Another timer won't fix anything just like the current timers don't fix anything. The problem is the ward based housing implementation itself. It will never be able to provide all of the housing needed on the larger servers efficiently and will end up with an excess of housing on the smaller ones. Until SE develops a fully instanced based housing system that reflects the features available for today's ward based system players needs will not be met and server resources will be used inefficiently. SE does not need to totally abandon the existing system and could leave it running in parallel for those players that are willing to put up with the drawbacks. In fact if I could get a fully instanced house with full exterior that can be upgraded or downgraded at will with a main city entrance I would leave my dead ward in a heartbeat. I'm sure there are many other players who would do the same.

I understand they want us to have that neighborhood feeling, but it no longer feels like a neighborhood when most of the houses are locked, have empty yards, and or you never see the owner around, like ever. And when you do see them, they usually ignore you as if you're a pest for waving at them. They might as well go to instance housing at this point. I think most people use housing for private isolation anyway.

I agree, and I'm open to proposing a different fix that would work better. However, the problem I'd like to have addressed isn't much to do with -me- getting a house at all, but rather the abuse of a system for purposes of griefing and personal gain that was never intended by SE in the first place. Relocation was meant as a means for those who already have a house to either change to a more desirable plot, or to a larger plot. When players start to abuse that system just to cause other players problems, or for the purpose of exploitation, then SE -should- step in. My proposal was originally intent upon putting a stop to griefing and exploitation, which is more widespread than simply my own server.

There are a lot of houses out there still available to be purchased. You just have to leave the comfort of your big city server to get them. Yes the timer sucks, but the only places where it is an issue, is the heavily populated ones like Balmung.

Balmung is not the end all server, especially with cross-server linkshells, cross server friends lists, and party finds now a thing. On a few servers, there are even larges still available to be purchased at lower than the initial price, due to sitting. in the real world you don't always get to live where you want. Many people live in small communities while commuting to cities where they may be working. Adapt, or complain. Either way, the solutions you offer, are highly unlikely to ever be implemented.

In almost every single post you make in this forum you're incredibly aggressive and insulting. This thread isn't about not being able to get a house on Balmung, it's about a broken relocation system, and this system can cause problems even on underpopulated servers. But since you obviously have zero reading comprehension and would rather behave like a prepubescent troll to everyone instead, you wouldn't realize that, I guess. Does it feel nice to be talked to like that?

This is how I can tell you don't understand what the problem is or even how the system works. The plot that's left behind will be on a timer as well...meaning they can camp on that plot also and once again have it relocated to on them...then go to that plot and have it happen again...etc.
