NPCs with plot armor, does it bother you?

There are no fake deaths just players who jump to conclusions ahead of the story. When Krile was in the hands of the Imperials the story indicated she was in danger never said she would die. In the case of Sir Aymeric being stabbed depending on where the wound is and how many times your stabbed detemines if you die quickly or have time to seek help. Do not fault the story if you come to a conclusion about a character and the story does not meet that conclusion. There is nothing wrong with trying to predict outcomes but do not let yourself come to fully believe that outcome you predict is what will happen. You will only find disappointment and lack of enjoyment in the story in doing so..

Everyone getting into severe danger to just walk away from it mostly unscathed too many times just makes the story predictable and boring. Branding is going to cause its own issues if they don't sideline those characters.

Even when they do kill someone off, it ends up coming off as very forced bordering on nonsensical.

I'm honestly starting to lose interest with the story. It was bad enough that HW undid an impactful death, but SB seems to have doubled down on that.

Everyone at the end of 2.55 and until we went back to Ul'Dah had thought Nanamo had actually died.

Criticism regarding the Nanamo thing, I believe, is a big part of the reason that SE's been a bit more extreme lately, what with stuff like

Papalymo's death and Lyse's reveal and retirement from the Scions, Raubahn's retirement as Grand Company commander, and Minfillia's ascension and departure to another world.

Granted, most of those aren't deaths, but they are pretty significant blows to the status quo, nonetheless, and I don't expect any of them to be undone.

At this point, I don't expect any character aside from the WoL to have foolproof plot armor.

Y'shtola, in particular, has put up some crazy death flags with the whole "using this sight is sapping my life away" thing.

While I won't say I'm 100% convinced she will die, I do think that's something that is going to be addressed within the lifespan of the game.

Yes.

NPC's with plot armour become stale because you know that they're going to survive - so any tension is lost and screen-time is wasted on them as everything will wrap up far too neatly. The game needs to stop playing things so safely and be bold enough to kill off major characters. Not frequently, but enough so that it's more than just minor NPC's, nameless NPC's and antagonists perishing.

It's made even worse by some NPC's being popular based entirely on their good looks rather than because they're particularly interesting. Lyse and Aymeric are prime examples of this. If Aymeric looked like his father you can bet he wouldn't be nearly so popular.

To be fair, with the Scions, it was very vague what had actually happened to them (Some would say intentionally).

As for Nanamo....I got nothing, they must have realized a lot of people liked her *shrug*
