Replying to the OPs idea.
I personally want to see how im performing while i am inside the instance, this helps in improving on the spot after a wipe, or in a successive run, only having one run show post-instance just isnt really good, also some statics look over their wipes in fflogs post raid day to also determine what they could do better, or what they could change, a scoreboard like that wouldnt really give enough information to those of us who want it.
Hiya. Truth be told, it sounds like you actually have an issue with triggers rather than the parsing side of things.
Please keep in mind that for progression minded raiders, parsing is primarily a tool that is used to corroborate and verify both individual and team performances in content where these matter significantly.
As mentioned earlier, using a parser in this manner most definitely isn't a crutch. Optimising your own play ahead of the curve and MrHappy videos can be challenging, particularly for more dot centric classes (Look at how SMN went from Zero to Hero in early ARR as dot damage became more understood). Imagine trying to conduct research without any means to test or validate your experiments. You wouldn't be able to achieve much and frankly, this was how things went for the most part in early ARR. It's also ironic to note that even though we didn't have any accurate numbers back then, there was still very much a meta for BCOB even if in hindsight, it likely wasn't correct.
Calling Triggers a crutch is a much fairer point and I suspect you'd be better received if you went with this instead. I will balance this thought by noting that there isn't a lot of difference between a Trigger and coordinating/calling mechanics over voice comms.
With that cleared up, don't you think that an in game Parser that didn't offer any Trigger functionality would be a good thing?

The issue with parsing is not the tool, but the people who use it.
I couldn't care less if someone is running a damage parser in the background to evaluate their own performance. What I will take issue with is if they decide to spout off about other's performance if it doesn't meet their unrealistic standards or expectations.
I'm never going to outparse someone who is in super awesome crazy gear. It won't happen. Do I put my all into every dungeon and trial that I run? Yes, and I know for a fact that i'm not near as bad as some folks who sleep through their dungeons.
And yet, even with that, i've had people make rude comments in dungeons about my DPS.
So to those who want the tool to just evaluate how they're doing? And see some numbers to reflect on their performance? Thumbs up. To people that are wanting to use it to malign others? Take a long look in the mirror, because you're the ones that are making the dev team second guess allowing this thing's use in the game.
You have stone sea sky to check your basic rotation and gauge improvements in damage. They won't do more because fflogs exist; because it goes beyond just checking your own performance into judging others and making content all about your dps ranking. They don't really want to legitimize that by making an official parser, or they'd have also made dps rankings like they did frontlnes and feast rankings, imo.
Duties need to grade you, perhaps like in FFXIII, when you complete a duty. Seeing a big C or D at the end of a primal might be a wake up call to a lot of people.
As long as bosses are dying, not many really care how it was done.
However, if your group dies with <5% HP remaining, you start looking why. Parsers can help groups squeak out the most dps possible.
Strange... For me, those numbers throws at the user's face how bad he is.
There are some that use those numbers to try to get better, while others will hide their own badness behind some elitist discourse or some harassing (that could be done based on another data). It makes easier for the player to figure out where he's sucking and try to correct that.
Those actually have fallen out of favor in games, I think.
I mean, the first time you beat something, C. But not many people would replay the levels obsessively to get the A, S, or SSS, and a lot of the requirements to get those in past games were so high as to be ridiculous. So players would just ignore the ranking system overall and beat the game. Mostly because otherwise, the moment you make a mistake, you just restart the level anyways. Die or get hit once? say goodby to an s ranking.
As for this game, we had Arbuda in the fist as a low key version of ranking, where your companion would comment based on your performance as a team, and it generally sucked.
We need a full parser. Nothing more and nothing else. We need to see the full party's DPS. The triggers that are popular among certain raid groups are a bit overkill in my taste but I don't mind people using them. Should not be officially supported if the ACT features come to be integrated.
