A lot of folks in the earlier days wanted a fast way of verbalizing, "I'm going to begin botanist activities." And so they just say, "I'm going to bot." or "I'm botting." It's like a total verbization of botany... of which I make up words too.

"I'm going to mine for a bit." -Miners
"I'm going to fish for a bit." -Fishers
"I'm going to bot for a bit." -Botanists
