I actually welcome these "CULTURE" posts, but not when they seem to take the place of actually important information about the issues of the game we are paying for.
You were not fooled, I am not caring at all for them at the moment.

How did it take the place of important information? It's not like they said, "sorry guys we're pushing off the patch notes to next month to bring you this letter."
and then again, it's not stealing place to nothing.
I think it's great that we get to see the personal side of the devs. It's important to remember that the devs are human beings and deserve some fun time away from the office. I appreciate all the work they have put into FFXIV over the last year. That being said, you have a quickly shrinking playerbase who are thirsty for new information, any information to keep them interested, playing, and maybe more importantly, paying. You have a perceived lack of communication with the playerbase since the beginning of billing. I don't think it would have been too much to ask to throw in a couple of teaser pics of the new dungeons, or a paragraph about the progress of the next patch at the bottom of the letter.
Boo and also but not limited to Hoo. This letter ruined everything, it did not tell us everything and anything about FFXIV, the sky is falling, Yoshi will delay the patch by a month because he was too busy being sick and celebrating the new year, now we'll never get anything in the game.

Proportionality, get some.
Best wishes for the new year to the SE staff. Yours is a road that runs up hill both ways, patience and determination will see you through.
