Hey, as I said in my previous post to the one you quoted, I made my peace with this casual design, but I also think you're understating people in general in saying they couldn't handle it, tens/hundreds of thousands of others around the world handle it fine in other games, and they would here as well if it shifted that way, is all I'm saying.

I'm saying that the people that coast along with no DPS as a healer aren't going to step it up if it suddenly gets harder. They'll likely swap jobs. It isn't the job, it's the person playing it.

Like you said, it's a mindset and a lot of people aren't gonna wanna swap from watching netflix while they run dungeons to actually having to pay attention all the time.

if that doesn't apply to you, then you aren't part of the problem.

I'm not sure calling it a mindset is entirely true because every time a Raid comes out that requires advanced healing in order to complete it's almost never the DPS heavy healers who I find failing the mechanics. Nor continuing to do so for months after the fact and getting salty over being gated. People who want to put in the bare minimum of efforts even in terms of just pure heals will fight not to change in my experience and no amount of anything more than gentle goading will push them forward.

Personally I don't care if someone only wants to heal. I'm a SCH so I'll gladly put my dots up to cover the slack without so much as a complaint. Hell, I honestly enjoy it because it means I can focus more on mitigation and DPS like my class was built for. Yet I've honestly only encountered a handful of those people who only want to heal and do it well. For the most part I've sadly encountered people who don't even want to do that and who have to be literally carried through most content. That isn't to imply people who are requesting this feature are of that ilk or anyone in this thread for that matter, but more speaking to my personal experiences within the game.

There was absolutely nothing rude about anything they mentioned. They also not once, made any kind of comment about how you are a leech or questioning your play style. What she said actually happens and there people with that exact mentality, I'm not sure why you are taking a factual and general statement about a small portion of the community as some kind of personal attack on what kind of player you are. The reason the DPS-Race is leaking into casual play is because anyone who is above casual play has an expectation that people know how to play the game and their job effectively, while also wanting to complete things like EX roulette and other tome-grinds (which is literally an ingame chore at this point) as quickly and smoothly as possible.
Making healing and tanking more challenging might not effect those who do harder content (and they'll still DPS and expect others to DPS, especially in casual content) but it will be more punishing to those who don't go past casual content, especially those who can't play their job effectively, making it more punishing to be in a group with them.

While I happen to like dpsing as a healer.... I have to agree with your sentiment. I wont speak for tanks, but as a healer I spend the vast majority of my time using dps abilities which says something about the amount of damage output in non-savage content.

IMO, Its not about how these jobs play mostly. Its more about how the grind is... and ppl just want the grind to be over fast.. every.. single.. week.
That's how it is.. and its how this game is built on. I dun reckon there is any much room for change at this point.

I'm not sure how people can complain about grind in this game. I get about an hour a day of relevant battle content at this point in the patch cycle.
