This was definitely confusing the first time through, and I've seen several people mess it up, so it should certainly be addressed (especially since this seems to be an EN-only issue).
As for the nautical terms in Temple of the Fist, while I knew what was meant I could understand people who weren't familiar with sea or air craft not knowing what 'port' or 'star' meant. At least with that one you can get around that issue by thinking of it as "the one that's not called 'beFORE and AFTer' ", since those are much more common terms.
I remember temple of the fist as "Fore = Forward/front" and the other one as sides. (usually wait at the side by default in case im too slow to make that connection)
But I never understood the point of saying port, stern, fore, aft.
people say its because left/right is too vague, to which the same applies to port/stern.
"Who's left/right?"
Who's port/stern? mine or yours?
Obviously the ships, which is why they dont say "The ships" port/stern.
So i can only guess the real reason is that the words originated nearly the same time left/right (and their language equivalent) came about.
Am I the only one who actually enjoyed that troll surprise? I think it's actually a nice little surprise for what could have been another simple kill x till you reach the end dungeon. In fact I'll like it to be implemented in more mechanics just so it makes dungeon runs a little more entertaining.
Edit: On that note, that explains why I was the only one who messed up the mechanics so badly the first time I was there, the other three members in my party were playing with the Japanese client.
was this fixed? wasnt listed in the list of fixes, but i also wont be able to test it out for a long while.
