So with the lack of content post story whats everyone doing to stay busy?

Trying to grind out lvl 60 for all (old) classes before Garo ends. Taking a while. :-/

Have stopped bothering trying to cap tomes or do the Omega stuff for now since its just not interesting to me, so I suppose I could do that if I get desperate.
And I've still got all the PvP achievement crap to do, MGP to grind, a few birds to farm, and then the dogs... But since, like I said in another topic, I'm starting to lose interest in mounts due to the recent laziness SE has exhibited, I don't know if I'll continue on with any of that at this point.

So, I guess once I hit 60 across the board, I'll play it by ear.

I've mostly been crafting and gathering--trying to earn some extra money in-game; also gearing up my other level 70 jobs in the 320 crafted gear/320 Omega normal gear. Also been leveling other jobs in between just hanging out with friends. Raiding on the weekends with my static, and working on ways to improve my BRD rotation.

And when I get bored on my main, I hop onto my alt, who is almost to Stone Vigil in the ARR MSQ. I seem to find ways to keep myself busy, but I am kind of looking forward to more stuff to do on my main. As grindy as relics are, I'm looking forward to the release of the SB relic steps so that I can have stuff to do.

Lack of content complaints ring extremely hollow with me. I worked through Stormblood over 3-4 weeks starting in early access. Despite the pace of the story the game lasted a good while before I got to Shinryu. I have a hard time faulting a game expansion that gave me sufficient content for 3-4 weeks of consistent daily play. I know that there is a patch on the way, there is plenty much to do in other areas of the game and that's fine.

It's almost impossible for any developer to provide content at a pace that keeps up with the audience, because some players complete more quickly than others. Although it may not be everyone's cup of tea there is plenty to do with crafting and gathering and leveling alternative battle jobs.

So, really I don't see a lack of content here, so much as a lack of content that specific players choose to limit themselves to consuming.

Dying? LOL! no, not really. My server still regularly has world queues to login, and just yesterday server congestion prevented me from retrieving the information for my Alt at login, and I had a login queue to contend with. Far from dying it appears to be very busy.

Playing splatoon, crafting (because I am the type that likes to collect as much as she can and horde it for no reason) leveling other jobs.

Recently taking care of bunny that broke her nail and one of her paw fingers who is in a splint currently from said injury. 5 hour pet visits are fun >.>

I could do 2 more relics from poetic overflow but don't feel like it. (speaking I need to poetic dump again ugh)

Making money for an attempt at upgrading our FC's cottage to a medium come 4.1 + the usual glam farming, leveling alts, etc. Finally got Ixion mount on my main, gotta start the grind for that one garlean mount next

Beast tribe crafting dailies and roulettes really. I made a number of my goals this expansion that I am working out new goals right now.

Most of the people I knew were done with Stormblood (MSQ-wise) within the first 48 hours. I was among the "slow" ones in that I didn't get 70 and finish MSQ until about a week after early access.

There is no denying that SE has a content cycle that they stick to pretty religiously. If you are one of the people who doesn't really care about crafting, gathering or leveling alternative jobs, I am sure these droughts between big patches can feel like a drag. Hell, I am raiding, have finished the gathering classes and have fiddled with finishing my crafters and I am still pretty bored.

For someone who seems to often advocate people playing how they want to play, it seems kind of odd to be critical of those who wish there were more varied activities in-game.

Like I mentioned to someone else yes there is a lack of sb content 61 to 70, and yes everyone Im sure got their money worth from the base game purchase of course but this game isnt one of those buy one time play it in a month move on type of games. Now I dont play wow but I heard on a podcast that they are getting way more stuff than us same people that play this game where commenting on it.

SE didnt release enough stuff to maintain alot of people until the next patch , new stuff of course its plenty of old stuff to do. But thats from the whole game itself collectively , but for sb we literally have 2 primals, and eight raids both of which if u get what u want from them its no reason to do them again. Many people have stated as much that like us both they like the game but they arent going to deny what they are doing which is just leveling jobs thats not really content. But your right its plenty to do but, not much to do in actual sb content, I mean I cleared susano and havent even seen the need to do him again because I can buy a crafted weapon thats the same ilvl instead of runnin him in pf ten times.

Laksimi is pretty easy and offers alot more gear than susano so u actually save money doing her multiple times. They just could have designed things a bit better and maybe thrown in the new palace, or the anima quest early and done something else later.

And also I like you didnt bum rush the story but like I mention earlier just to have stuff to do while i was doing the story because of how easy it is to level. I leveled palidan, astro, bard , rdm, sam just to draw out the story long enough to where I wasnt getting exp on level 70s. To draw out the story you have to be doing things that will fill in those blanks. And again we played for the base game ab that was in june and since then ive paid 50 more dollars from adding two new retainers. Everyones still paying thats sub and they could of added more actual sb content to the game it wouldnt have hurt

There's many meaning to a death. Just like a human can die emotionally, mentally or physically, a game has many way to die to. For people who just arrived they have things to do, until they get bored too. Gathering money allow them to keep the boat afloat but it doesn't mean it got funnier or any different. I've been playing since the beginning of the 2.0 and imo we're starting to get close to the phase where they only take bad decisions and mess their game up.
