Ixion proves you need to upgrade servers

Sorry to burst your bubbles guys, but they didnt reuse the xi or xiv servers when they moved datacenters. They had 48 hours,thats not enough time to uncable, unrack, pack, ship, receive, rerack, recable, test, and go live in a new location. We had a picture of some of the racks with servers already in them a month prior to the move. Gonna have to blame something else this time. Sorry :p

I really think there is, look at the retainers, that is purely based off 1.0 and did nothing to change it. (other then attaching them to the MB, that is the only change moving to 2.0 and the removal of the wards. Without the wards to go to, they should not be dropping items to sell when you interact with them)

They are still going to the wards, if you read the chat text. Only that players can't enter the wards now. It work as lore design.
And who say that they used 1.0 codes for the retainer, and not just the concept with new codes?

They had what, 2 years to make 2.0? dev probably started in 2011, servers shut down in 2012, and 2.0 launched in 2013. By any measurements, that was a miracle.

What was the point of the instances really. Ixion just popped now. I immediately went there and wasn't even close to getting into the instance. Just incredibly useless SE!!! It's been a month and still can't even see the fight.

They should just do what they did with Odin and make a trial for Ixion. If anything give it a certain time frame where you can use the trial similar to it's spawn rate.

To make the charicter data easier to covert they used the bloted 1.0 code which is why we have instance issues, space issues etc

This is correct. So when you hear the devs say that they say they can't do something because of the server data transfer issues, this is the cause. The 1.x technology did everything on the server and no client side work. They want to do more and are working on it but retooling everything is like changing out a transmission in a car while it's still driving on the road. It isn't easy but there working on it.

Lore is nice and all just as long it does not interfere with playability too much. Since we can't enter the wards to interact with them, they should of been completely redone from a design prospective. I do not like the retainers now, there is too much receptive menus, and needing to wait for them to respond times 8 and move items one to another and overall item management, takes too much time. Item management is very poorly done, and keeps getting worse as the game progresses when they keep flooding us with items.

Then take down servers for a month or whatever and fix these issues. You shouldn't be driving the car while changing the transmission, you stop the car. They had sometime in HW to realize it was a problem, it is now SB without any fix, time to take action and stop ignoring the problem. I wasted too much time with the poor item management in the game.

Sounds good in theory, but can you imagine the salt from players who can't login? I mean it happens all the time with emergency maintenance already. Jeez, there'd be enough to fill every single instance of The Lochs from the lowest point to the highest point.
