I like a lot of these changes. If it means taking a hit on Holy Spirit, I'll gladly take it to keep my huge amount of utility for the party. DRK and WAR getting some love, and now we can finally, finally put this tank accessories nightmare to bed.

But I see the reversal of stance swap penalties, and the only thing I can think is "Oh no." Because I know exactly where this is going: the community at large is going to mandate stance swapping for tanks, regardless of whether or not the players can handle it.

...no, because making SwO oGCD would just massively shaft DRK since MP is more smoothly consumed on DRK than on PLD and the cost of the Grit spell would have a much larger impact on DRK DPS than the cost of the ShO spell on PLD. I mean, unless they also rework the MP cost for Grit to be much lower, but then why not just do it right instead of half-way?

It's more of an argument for making Defiance actually fill your HP bar when you turn it on instead of letting that one meaningless design decision 4 years ago that has almost no actual impact on play result in broken design for all tank jobs forever.

WAR wasnt needed for path or eye.
(even more so path)

WAR was desired for being the highest DPS of the 3 tanks.
WAR was desired for being the most reliable for tank busters.
WAR came with the added benefit of eye, to raise NIN dmg.
WARs dont use path, except on progression, and people arent handling raid wide dmg well yet. But at least they have it when learning.

Even if WAR was absolute garbage at everything but DPS, savage groups are going to require WARs.
Thats just the end of the story.

WAR already out damaged the other tanks, as long as the stars aligned in EX modes.
With the way Savage is made, it will be a tiny bit easier to align the stars, and out dmg the other tanks.
They shoulodnt be adding more DPS to WAR, but instead should be making it easier to have all things go right.
(which is still going to solidify their position in savage)

I'm crying. It's everything I dreamed of. I genuinely feared nothing would change.

All they literally need to do now is give them some form of utility with shake it off and they said they were looking at it for changes. It's an amazing feeling.

WAR will be the tank that can adjust on the fly to situations again giving it that sense of fluidity that they took away.

That would be stupid af. The reason the other two are on the gcd is because wars stance doesn't reduce damage, swapping to it does nothing without a heal you still just due to whatever is gonna hit you, when the others are a 20% CD. And inner beast costs gauge so it's not even in the discussion because ib is not part of the stance itself. So unless they wanna give defiance either increased max AND full hp or innate damage reduction it should never be on the gcd.

As a WAR main, I completely agree. I want to see every combination viable, preferably having different combinations best on different fights to ensure there is no "guaranteed" spot. Im sick of the stale "only this comp pls" mentality.
