Summoner and the upcoming changes

Actually, if you treat Contagion like Raging Strikes, it still works out. Pop Raging Strikes while you're burning your 2nd and 3rd Aetherflow stacks (so they'll be buffed), and go into DWT Trance and pop Tri-Disaster just like we do now.

Edit: Except for the fact that Contagion is 15s, where Raging Strikes was 18s :-/

I did im re iterating on the hard math only and considering you didnt respond after i posted the potency drops i went back to assure. This was more about smn dot damage being "30% weaker" when its not.

Not total dps.

Thats different.

We are all forgetting the updated Maim and Mend Trait will add, permanently, 40% more damage to the egis. And that is a lot of Dps.

It already does. Check your in-game tooltips instead of the ones from the wiki sites.

It's probably more than 30% weaker. It's 30% weaker per dot tick, but if you just count total potency, then it depends. It ranges from 10% to 50% weaker.

We lost Spur, so basically this replaces that and makes it 100% of the time if true. That's definitely more DPS for sure. However, Garuda's potency dropped from ~110 to 90 or so per hit.

Hai Hai to the rescue to talk people off the ledge lol. Great initial write-up though.

Been reading over Hai Hai's doc and with the recent changes, it seems that over the course of 60s DoT duration, Bio 3/Miasma 3 is a loss of 560 potency from the old Bio/Bio2/Miasma, but in return we gain 4 GCD's from not having to recast DoT's, which we then need to cast x3 Ruin 3 to break even numbers(ish), and or get x2 Ruin 4 proc's to go over the old potency.

So to me it looks like they changed summoner into focus more on Ruin casts and less on DoT management, which I do not see as a bad change. Slow build up into Demi-Bahamut burst and then back into slow build up.
Even so I am still taking every tooltip information with a grain of salt until June 16th and we get the real patch notes, feeling the translation of tooltips at the media tour was rushed somewhat.

I heard that the japanese tooltip for bane is actually the same as the current, which if true would mean that bane was actually not nerfed at all. Anyone can confirm that ? And yeah there seems to be a lot of misinformation out there right now, so people really need to reserve judgment until 16th.
