Forum Block/Ignore feature addition

I wasn't being insulting, I'm just being blunt. Sure having one is nice and could make things more streamlined for when we want to look for things, but this isn't why most people here want it. They want it because they don't like other opinions and want it to be censored and silenced, and they want SE to give them a block and ignore feature.

I'm here saying, No. that won't do the forums any good. We should have learnt to just ignore the things we do not like by now. Most people learn this from a young age. We don't need an adult figure to do this for us. All that will lead to is echo chambers and dissenting/unpopular opions which can sometimes bring an interesting debate to be silenced. Look at Reddit, where unpopular opinions get buried no matter if it's a troll or a person who just thinks differently. Do you seriously want this here?

If someone's comment breaks forum rules, then report it and it will be removed. If it just hurts your feelings but isn't breaking any rules, then tough it gets to stay there. Move onto the next post/topic.

Lots? Not really. Some? Certainly. Any particular side? Nope. Both sides unfortunately.

Or you could, like, idk, not bother coming to these forums. There's always that option.....

No seriously, if someone is being that much of a concern here for you, take a break from these forums. If they harass you or try to call you out specifically for something, forum mods are usually fairly quick in dealing with the matter.

Yeah, there's always that option, but on the same coin what is lost? A voice? An opinion? An idea?

And no one is really THAT much of a concern for me, as it is me searching for the structuring of a better middle ground. Forum trolls get to have their fun, until someone gets offended and reports them and those that don't wish to deal with them have a way of quickly identifying those threads for the future.

Perhaps I'm being too much of an idealist..?

Maybe there should be no Blacklist in game... I mean... we should be adults and deal with it, right?

There are other outlets for this stuff. Reddit's the big one, tons of Facebook groups, the list goes on.

True, however it's not as likely to be seen by a dev or in the least by someone that could forward something to a dev. Though that's not to say you can't get noticed else where. Official forums though. :p
