In call of duty... not the engine... Not the mechanics... many weapons stay the same....
For Assassin's creed, the engine changed names but is still essentially the same
Final fantasy has a different engine.. different mechanics... different characters in every game
Thats one of it's biggest pulls.. the innovation... and that takes time
Why do you think GTA games take so long to come out...
Not to step on any toes but "Call of Duty" sequels would be called "Expansion packs" in my world....
Patches take too long to come out. Please Hire more staff

Topic with the OP complaining about the game's development without taking time to learn how gaming development works #234345.
This is fast compared to other MMO's. Especially with them basically making one game better while working on a new one at the same time. The developers always express how hard they are working on the game, especially with Yoshida putting massive amounts of hours a day to get the game rolling. People are simply not appreciative of their hard work, despite if you like what they are giving to you or not. -

Why is content slow coming out? Because a bulk of the development work is likely being spent on 2.0 stuff.
So you have two options. Would you rather get faster/more 1.x content that will get scrapped when 2.0 comes out, or would you rather have 2.0 come out sooner?
The correct answer is the one that has 2.0 coming out as soon as possible. -

Here's an idea...what if they skipped current content for our current FFXIV version, would we get 2.0 faster?
If thats the case, hell give me your current 2.0 engine no matter how unfinished / polished it is.
Could'nt be in worse state than the current Beta version was.
