Western MMORPG players have WoW for raiding, there's very little reason to do it here.

First column is active players and the P3.0, P3.1, etc are the number of people that have cleared the patch MSQ. Strange how NA has more active players than JP but still has less patch 3.1 onward clears.

I suspect more people would raid if a greater number amongst the current batch of raiders were more inclined to introduce new blood to the raiding scene. That isn't the case, though, as you can see by the numerous 'SKIP SOAR' and 'NO BONUS' parties that pop up mere hours after a new challenge is added to the game. Many people are perfectly capable of handling the game's harder content - myself included - but often finding a consistent group of players to raid with is the greater difficulty.

NA/EU really is just better off asking for male bunny suit and Edda dress only. Stick to what we're good at *wink*

And the reason is: people join parties, that fit to them. No need to write "no bonus".

Do you even realize how little sense you make?
Obviously those are just excuses to cover up that the average JP player is way better than the average NA/EU player.

Those are Percentages! The actual number of players doesn't matter.
I actually feel bad for JP because they probably want more demanding stuff, but NA/EU is holding the game back from becoming harder. Instead we're going into an easier direction.

Unless you are saying that players that want to raid do not play FFXIV, but WoW instead.
But that doesn't make sense either!
FFXIV focuses on casuals, because they are majority of mmo players.
So it wouldn't make sense for WoW to have more raiders than casuals, as they have like 3-4 times the sub numbers!
Unless you think SE is probably marketing to the wrong crowd from a business standpoint!
As that would mean FFXIV could have a bigger target audience by pleasing the raiders.

And that would be blasphemy!

I feel Balmung's numbers are inflated. Plenty of people have alts and some go so far as to level them too.

I think the average NA players simply can't handle the pressure. Too much tippy toeing around facts to avoid hurting someones feelings. Trying to help a NA player get better usually ends with them having an epic meltdown, no matter how much you sugar coat it. That's why, at least from my experience, those of us that are successful raiders tend to stick together, and are wary about bringing in new blood.
