That... doesn't solve anything.

This is especially frustrating since there are now tons of NPC that go barefoot. They literally have everything they need to allow us to go barefoot. They just won't. Lazy. It's just stubborn laziness.

They probably need to find out how to connect us to the ground. And change the sounds of our footsteps.

I'm honestly kinda curious what the reasoning on the development side even is for having a forced sandal everytime the player character has nothing else equipped on their feets (considering this is far from the first thread asking for it, and it's deffinetely not gonna be the last). Even if it's just something as simple as distracting from rather god awfull feet models :P

Needless to say, way behind this. Looks rather weird for our character to have sandals glued to their feet when going to bed or taking a bath

They said if they do barefoot option, we would be like floating because there is some space between the ground and the sole. But I ask, why don't change the ankle's position when going barefooted? It wouldn't be the first time. (And sorry if I can't explain better).


I've been checking and I've seen some different sandals' foot gear modifies the ankle and toes' height position (I'm not talking about the flat-feet thing). I think they could do the same as here, positioning the feet and ankles lower (so the soles can touch the ground) ONLY while barefooted (obviously this would make slighty larger legs, but it would be a minor thing). How to implement this? Well, I don't know. I know it's still a very complicated issue, but I'm just dropping this. :p

I have no problem with floating in the air. Let's face it: I am floating in the air already lots of the time or I am stuck with my feet in the ground because the hitboxes don't work that well with uneven terrain anyway.

Please let me take off these sandals.

Maybe they could make an item that explains away some of the floating, like cloud sandals or something. HQ versions could have some sort of occasional whispy animation, the NQ just being pure blank.
