Oh wow! Even if it never comes to fruition, consider me tickled pink.
Have I ever mention that you're my favorite rep? Much better than that Bologna guy.

Cool beans.
One concern though - Please account for potential grievers who accept these and then intentionally break the synth.
Being able to commission crafters through leves seems like an excellent idea, because I know there are people out there who hate crafting because of the mind-numbing grind involved to level it. As long as there aren't any potential exploits, it'd be a great way for crafters to make money, and for DoW&M to get the gear they need. I'd love to see it used in melding materia too, if possible.
Well, given the entire Leve System was originally intended to grow into a content creation platform for us players anyway, I certainly think this is one very much worth considering.
Things like the player created dungeons Everquest and co. have been experimenting with and means for players to commission tasks of other players almost invariably result in players having so much more to do - you can't rely on them wholly in the end, but for what little experience I have, it always seems to me that developers invest in this sort of thing get so, so much more out of their resource investment as a result.
So, well, yep. Liked; 'glad the developers are considering and all.
make it so that the same crafter can't retry the same leve he fail. So even if he fail for exp, he can only sell it once.
Yea, that's the rub. You're got grievers, crafters who honestly tried to craft something that just outside their range, and disconnects, all of which would cause a synth to fail. And what you don't want to happen is for the person who offered the commission to be left with nothing.
It was talked about earlier, but I don't recall a satisfactory solution come up. If SE does get around to implementing it, I would be curious how they'd address this.
This is a wonderful idea.
To fight grieving, it could be that the request stays up for 12 or 24 hours, and, when you choose the leve, you have 30 minutes to complete it. If you don't complete it in 30 minutes you can't accept a new one for an hour, if you fail to complete 4 in a row (or something like that) you can't accept a new one for 12 or 24 hours.
However, if you simply fail the attempt, there is no penalty.
The only other problem I could see is the location where the leve shows up. If a request is in a specific town, is it only visible in that town? It would make sense to be that way, but at the same time, it would perpetuate the Ul'dah effect.
Eh, maybe this is a useful thing for some people, but a market system already addresses this function to the maximum effeciency possible.
I agree 100%. SE needs to implement this in the upcoming patches.
This is commonly called Buy/Sell Orders in other games and is usually a built in function of the Auction House. Very useful option.
