That's just flat out wrong. There's no nice way to put this, by making that kind of statement, you're either flat out lying, or just have no idea what you're talking about. Unless of course you can back up that sweeping statement with some hard facts as proof, which you can't, since they don't exist, as the statement is just not true.
Laptop has always had limited upgrade options, that's the price you pay for the portability. That said, cpu/memory/hdd and in some cases, the gpu can still be upgraded.
It doesn't really matter whether you believe performance laptop are viable or not, the fact is that they are.
