That's fine, it's always horses for courses in this and any game. However the OP did not specify expert dungeons, the context is wider.

I really despise this argument. I play Paladin because I enjoy sword and board. Why should I have to go DPS just because I don't want to sprint through a dungeon dragging the trash pack behind me?

Well yes, with leveling dungeons I agree to not mass pull. Most times you simply don't have the tools and gesr to handle it efficiently.
In level 60 dungeons though? Unless your healer and tank is ilv 150, mass pulling is completely normal an should not be considered speed running.

As a person that tanks the dungeons everyday. I do pull big but i let the party know from time to time that I am. 50 dungeons i still pull big same as 60- expert. But from what the OP is saying its more like a comfort lvl. It takes time to get used to the pulls

When you play a role, you're expected to do certain things.
Knowing how much you're able to pull and how viable it is to pull it is part of a Tank's job. Leading your party and going through a dungeon smoothly and efficiently is a Tank's job.

When you play a tank, please be expected to adjust to your parties needs. If you see your party is completely overpowered, pull more.

I actually DPS less as a healer on small pulls. I don't use Assize, I don't use Holy, I don't use bane. It's not worth it when you pull a mob of two enemies.

Funny thing is, it's not even 5 mins. With slow tanks my protect sometimes needs to be refreshed. That's 30+ mins wasted compared to a tank that can get it done in 15 mins.

It's not always the tank "who gets it done in 15 mins", or the tank who is "slow". It's also dps - even if a tank mass pulls and dps kills 3 mobs at the speed of snail, I don't really see a difference. A tank can pull 1 mob at a time and with fast dps can kill that mob in 5 to 10 seconds or whatever, then your "slow" tank isn't so slow anymore.

Generally speaking, mass pulls make the most of the dps' toolkit as well as scale better with the healer's capabilities, so it's expected for tanks to do so. Of course scaling pull size to the dps and heals is necessary considering wipes are a much bigger waste of time.

On a side note, why are people getting so upset over this that their first reaction is sabotage or refusing to play? Two wrongs don't make a right and all poor party play does is make victims of the other two people in your party. If it's that upsetting that the tank isn't up to snuff then either put the time into teaching (provided the tank can listen) or feel free to leave the dungeon.

Well that's when accessing the party comes into play.
Obviously if your Bard is spamming Venom Bite and your BLM is spamming blizzard you should just pull less.
