Compared to other games in the series XIV's races are pretty bland where as say in Ivalice or Gaia there's all sorts of colorful and unique races, they don't have to necessarily be good but the variety is there. ( I know my character is an Au Ra now but im gonna go back to my original race)
I know people get easily triggered over the "forbidden game can't talk about it here" game but Final Fantasy XI's races looked well designed. I don't even have any emotional attachment to the game either cause I started late last year with it. -

The Hyur looking kids with horns and small elf like ears? I think they should be added as a sub clan for Hyur since they already exist in game.

Animal Monster race. Maybe not like Pandamoniums but something pretty close and less human looking, tho it'd be a plus if they kept them close to this.

This next race is more of a idea than a brand new race but we could use the lore bits from the Au Ra (mentioning one of them found a city with actual skyscrapers and cars) and call its inhabitants Neotopians or somthing.

Don't see a new race making it into 4.0 personally but maybe 5.0 could potentially see some added customization, if not a new race.
