PSN and FFXIV: why pay twice?

PSN seems to be up but I am barely (and I stress barely) able to play the game at the moment, with 30+ second lags on literally every action and interaction. Is there still some issue?

Yeah... I haven't had PlayStation Plus at all since I started playing this game on PS4.

The idea is to not gate the game with two pay-walls. It was a fiasco about it with Microsoft like I think when ESO came out Microsoft required users to pay for gold on top of ESO subscription which agreed is pretty ridiculous.

On the PS4, you don't need Playstation Plus to play free games or games with a subscription. Warframe is a good example as it's free and really not a bad game to pick up.

FFXIV does *not* require PS Plus.

Today most of the main DNS system was under a HUGE DDoS attack that downed dozens of services.

aka Not Sony's fault.

Can mods please just close this threat? it has been answered and it's misguided information. no reason for people to keep answering this.

No my issue is I want both of us to play at the same time, and we both have a different account. I just dont want to pay to use the PS4 since my gf refuses and we can only use her account on the PS4.

Buy a PS4 liscense for your account, and make the switch, or get a second PC for one of you to use.
That's really all you can do in this case if she can't stand PS4.

You can put mouse and keyboard on PS4 if that's her problem.

PS Plus is not needed for FFXIV.

But.....PS Plus is needed for ESO on PS4.

Iv been playing on PSN for over a year now and don't have or will I ever have PSN+ don't need it to play FFXIV or will you ever need it. The end!

You don't need PSN Plus like most mentioned but you need to be logged into you PSN account to run FFXIV.
