So maybe Yda's evil twin Ada Wong, the b*tch in the red dress. A nice contrast to Aymeric the Blue. Between red mages and Ada Stormblood will be very very red.

I don't know if it's Yda, but reading the quest journal about the 3.4 quest "An Ending to Mark a New Beginning"...
Gundobald, the old guy at Little Ala Mhigo who recognized Yda talked about her parents, how he fought with them against the Garleans, and how Yda used to be a part of the resistance group trying to take Ala Mhigo back...
Maybe the two in the trailer were Yda's parents?
At first I considered she was a new one, then something began to confuse me. From 3.4 we can see Yda and Papalymo have important roles in the story of Ala Migho, however, this story would not be ready until 4.0.
Then come the 4.0 trailer, in which a blonde, Monk-like girl plays a main role. I just can't get the purpose why they design a new character has similar features as an old one. It's quite natural to imagine in a story: if two different characters have such similar features--appearances, jobs, backgrounds--they may probably have a competitive relation with each other.
However in this trailer, the one who fights with the girl is not Yda, but (probably) the Warrior of Light. That's strange to me.
Anyhow, it''s too early to say she MUST BE Yda yet. I just can't clear that possibility out of my mind...
No tattoo and her tits are bigger, it's not Yda m8.
Also, if this Trailer is supposed to take place in Ala Mhigo, there's a rather big lack of Garlean troops holding the place...
So it's probably set in the past, before the place was taken over.
The trailer showed the WoL (its him) and a new character or a old that we will find out about in 3.5. The location that you saw with the hand is called Rhalgar Breach (the name might be wrong) this is the Ala Mhigan Resistance main zone, their HQ is here aswell. So I one can understand why there are no Garlean forces stationed there.
I'll counter point out that gladiator's used daggers up until rogue/ninja release where all daggers they had were remade into swords in both name and appearance.
Not only that but, monks themselves are supposed to deal blunt damage. Meaning all the bladed type weapons they kept churning out for monks are inherently wrong... something they realized when the playerbase consistently pointed this out to them. Hence they've been moving away from such things and most new monk weapons are largely actual blunt fist weapons. (Something I've been immensely thankful for)
Anyways, this whole monk vs dancer debate is really starting to seem awfully similar to the ACN/SMN/SCH debate back in beta lol.
