Time played is irrelevant as everyone pays the same sub (cept Legacy members who got it lower).

They counted and obviously the number of potential dropouts is not high enough for them to see a risk. Tough luck there, PS3 has been supported way past it's lifetime. If you are so unhappy with the PS4, get a PC, the PC version and experience the world of actual possibilities.
As for the specs for PC: good, hopefully that means some high-res graphics. I use a laptop but since it currently runs the game on highest settings without any issues, I doubt I have to worry. Might just upgrade my RAM a bit (currently 8 GB) since it can go to 32 GB...
Not entirely sure why you prefer the low resolution look, but you can lower the resolution on the PC version to even lower than the PS3 if you'd prefer. You'll get that stretched look similar to the PS3 as long as you run it in fullscreen, and it'll run quite a bit better than it would running at your native resolution.
So happy that ps3 support is finally about to be burn.
Hope we can see some good changes from that sacrifice.
Sry for those who still play in that Allegan stone of ps3, but you have almost a year to upgrade,
Save a dollar a day.
Good riddance.

Lmao what are you talking about? My laptop has a i7 that's clocked around 2.65, a gtx 970, and win 10. SE has their recommended specs as a Intel 2 Duo Core at 3.0, gtx 650, and win 10.
My laptop blows the current recommended out of the water and will in all likelihood knock the recommended new settings out of the water as well.
They have laptops out on the market that have 3.0 ghz cpus and a few of the top amd and gtx cards inside them. This game will never become graphically demanding to the point laptops can't handle it, because if that happens a good handful of mid tier desktops as well as the ps4 would drop off the face of Eorzea.
You do realize, I hope, that "low-res graphics" tends to refer to ASCII art level of graphics. "High-res graphics" refers to anything that goes beyond that.
Unless its just been a text adventure, all games on the Atari 2600 and up have been high res graphics. FF14 is nowhere near "low res" unless you count those inane ASCII macros that people like to spring on others.
