Ehh, you might want to pass on that. I've never really seen a Japanese game company get down and do the books right - not even when it came to Silent Hill.

I'd buy 'em and read 'em. Always kind of regretted there wasn't anything like this for FFXI other than the silly 4-koma compilation. <3

Seriously, you really don't. Not only were they pretty bad in the original, but the translation made it even worse. There's tons of XI fanfiction out there that's better written.
