What's always taken the piss for me is that your subscription dollars apparently aren't enough to guarantee place holding of this feature until you can get back online. Who CARES if someone is paying $15 a month to hog a virtual house they're not using? They'll either come back to the game at some point, or eventually unsub and lose it anyway; big whoop. (Spoilers: keeping my house on an auto-demolish stranglehold doesn't encourage me to login in and "use it", like people would like to believe - it just boosts SE's daily login count by 1 and irritates the pants off of me over how arbitrary it is.)
The playerbase is so quick to point fingers at one another instead of pointing them at SE, the braintrust of this current housing debacle. I'd almost rather they remove the feature altogether (with obvious refunds to those who own) until they can get it sorted out where there's enough for EVERYONE, even if someone wants one for each one of their three accounts with 8 alts apiece.
True but what are people doing to make things easier for everyone for the time being? Abolutely nothing... They'll buy up as much property as they can get thier hands on for themselves and then look at the people without one saying "I'm totally innocent"... I say utter rubbish, this whole thing could've been made alot easier if some people were able to think of someone other than themselves for once.
Yes the system is a mess but blaming other players is also warrented imho. You don't take advantage of a wrong just because you can... It's like a cash machine giving out more money than it should, it's still wrong to take it dispite being the Banks fault.
Because if that happened to you, you would totally leave that money there right ? C'mon now.
That's nothing but being opportunist. In case of housing ( not appartments ) people saw the broken system as an opportunty to make money and seized it. You can't really blame them for being smarter than the majority unless... You are on the other end.
I know few players on my server who did or are still occasionally selling plots to people. And honestly if i had the funds when housing came out, i would have done it too considering how much second hand plots are sold for.
If SE had implemented counter measures to that in the first place, it would never have happened. And also SE not removing the 45 days demolition thng is still contributing to the issue. Why do you think the players i've mentioned are still able to get houses to sell ?
I took a 4 months break not too long ago and i stayed subbed all that time for few reasons even if i wasn't playing at all, the demolition system being one of the major ones.
It has happened to me.. I don't live on the moon, I took the extra inside was gonna come out of my balance anyway when they eventually found out :P
I'll think you will find I said an an earlier post I am very happy with my FC room so I don't want one.
Well I think the demolition system was as much to increase subs aswel as possibly opening up plots tbh.
Why should the house owners be discriminated? By that logic we could also say that any member of FC that has a house should not be able to buy an apartment as well - because they have the option to buy the FC room...
I am not sure if you realize it, but you are trying to bring certain level of equality by discriminating noticeable portion of the player base without even considering why could a house owner want the apartment. In my opinion apartments are great way to socialize, you get a lot of neighbors - in comparison to empty wards etc.
Threads like this one are no good. The only thing you are going to achieve is that people who would otherwise ignore the apartments are going to buy few just because they disagree with your attitude.
The fact that the apartments are going to cost "lunch money" is making it even more likely...
