At least skin types.
More purple Au Ra! More soot black Duskwight (i think that's an option). More blueberry and chocolate cats.
I get asked which skin tone I have since apparently "dark skinned keepers dont look good in the light" (I dont see this??? uh. maybe its just the character creation screen it IS really bad about lighting) so there it is!!! go nuts

Yeah... I wanted her scales to still pop out so I went with the dark ones in the end (i mean why be a race w scales and then...remove the scales??? i just) But I think you're right the melanin would be completely gone in the scales, too. Oh well.

Shame. It would have been interesting to get specifics. Apart from what I mentioned before, when I look at a girl's/woman's face I focus most on their lips. With eyes as a close second. It really helps if they have striking eyes, but full lips are a huge turn on. So if i want to make an attractive female character I go with something like....*points at Pooky* ...THIS.

I just finished my Fantasia for my Dusk, and I thought long and hard about the dark (I mean jet black and navy blue dark) skintones, and they just don't mesh with me much.

I went with an ashy grey. I used to be a pale peachy tonebefore my Lalafell stint, but Dusks wear grey skin really well. In the context of lore, the incredibly pale skin makes sense for a people that were/are cave dwelling. Getting vitamin D must've have been a serious effort!

When Au Ra was new, I was a purple one. It looked really bad in most lighting, as I felt like of her facial details went flat.

Speaking of unusual skintones, how many players use, let alone know, that Duskwrights have some light green skin options?

Dunno... uniquiness,maybe? The rarest features combination are preferred compared to the common ones.

I think one of the things that I would find very attractive are color combinations. Certain hair colors go really well with some skin tones, eye colors, etc. As well as what is being worn as well. To me, one can never go wrong with the slightly tan skin. : D

Personally I think as far as making characters in this game goes, no matter how the character is made there's probably some sort of combination that can make them look really good.

Blonde hair.

I really loved my Au Ra, but the nostalgic feeling being a Lalafell came back to me and I just had to go back as a Lala

Well for me I like quite angular faces, eyes are often big, I like to choose eye color that compliments the hair and doesn't clash with it. Hair colors must have highlights that make sense (and not be radically different) Extra pale skin is a must, it makes hair colors pop. I also like hair styles that frame the face or detract from the negatives (elezen males have EXTREMELY sharp ears) I find male auras to have huge foreheads so I have to choose hairs which take away from that. I need small noses also, my female characters are often flat chested because I like it all to be about the face.

I think a huge factor in those threads is the fact that you can make everyone look good with a few tricks (and a bit of photoshop). If you got the perfect angle, the most epic location, the best outfit combination, a matching hairstyle/eyecolor/face and lastly, a nice caption to breathe life into the picture. But ultimately it comes down to your target audience and what they like. If you look like a clown in a community that loathes clowns, you're in for a bad time but that doesn't mean other people wouldn't appreciate or find that clown appearance beautiful in their eyes.


That said, here are my presets. I've shared them a few times but I don't mind that much cause it's nothing anyone cannot figure out - just helps to accomplish things faster.

Race: Hyuran Midlander, Skin Tone (2,18) (starting from the bottom), Hairstyle 29-30(depends on if you have the wedding hairstyle or not), Hair Color (5,18)(changes often lol), Hair Highlights No, Face 5 counting left to right, Jaw Type 3, Eye Shape 1, Eye Color (2,6), Odd Eyes No, Eyebrows Type 1, Nose Type 1, Mouth Type 1, Lip Color None, Face Paint smeared face, Face Paint color light - (6,9).

It's mostly a design/rp choice really since I wanted my character to be rather basic and easily fit into the looks of all jobs. It also goes with the name - "Radiant Hero" so that archetype did fit my needs. That may appear boring to most people but in the end, it's me (the player) that fills the mannequin with life so even if you find someone exactly like me, it won't be the same.

Just my thoughts.

SKIN

• Raen: natural, grey (pale) and a light tanned skin fits very nice the bright scales
• Xaela: dark and colorfull skin-colors are most suitable for their dark scales

ACCESSOIRIES

• glasses: Glasses makes your character sexy and smart.
• hats: Hats are a nice alternative and a very important accessory!

HAIR

• Same colors: You can get very nice results by using a similiar color for your skin and hair
• Complementary: Using complementary colors (for example tanned skin and pink hair) you can make your character look very unique. But be carefull here. If your characters skin is very bright, you should not use some high saturated colors for your hair (pale tan and a extremely red hair-color is a no go!)
• Types: Depending on which color and hairstyle you use, your character delivers a secret message. For example: Long, white hair are mostly used by mystic characters, while short, colorfull hair are often used by active/aggressive characters.

EYES

• Eyes are the window to the soul! You can use what you want, but you must be carefull not to mess up things.
• Even when it seems to be attractive or unique, try not use 2 different eye-colors (like red for the left eye and yellow for the right eye). While this is very rare in the real world, its nearly common in MMORPGs (and fits not every character).

PERSONAL PREFERENCES

• I like a pale skin, bright scales (Raen), short white hairstyle and yellow/gold glowing eyes. Combined with some dark framed glasses and an outfit in black and/or white and silver.
