The OP specializes in standing on the side of the road with a sign that says "Homeless," so I'm not sure what your issue with them is.

Just because somebody has all the gatherer/crafter classes doesn't means he'll got the same strategy, the same succes, the same time than like you all guys. Keep that in mind plz but i'm pleased to see more answers and some defense for this topic too.

Also and i could be wrong but is this against tos?
Our FC had many members chip in when we purchased our large mansion upgrading from a small house, surely you must have some crafters and gatherers that bring in $$?
Perhaps posting on the server section that you reside would also help and get more responses.

I followed the link to that site about your donation and your FC has 19 members right? I don't really understand why all of you cant get together and save the money as a FC? In my old FC we did not even had 10 people in it at the end but with a little time we managed to get enough for the big house, so why are you not able to do so too? You wrote that a lot of members are students and cant contribute much to it thanks to that but I dont really understand that? I study too in RL and have some millions on my retainers without being a hardcore crafter. Just doing your daily dungeons and roulettes should give a nice sum, for example I did some dungeons and after that I had 50k on me. If only 10 members of you FC would give half of that into the FC chest every week you would have 1.000.000 Gil after one month. This would take a long time and would not be enough but if everyone wants a big home than they should save the money too. And if nobody is willing to do that than maybe they also dont deserve a big house. (A small one is nice too ;))

I am sorry but I dont really like this idea :/ (this is not rl where your life depends on having a place to stay) there a lot of possibility to make gil in this game and you even get a lot by just doing daily runs. Everyone has the same chance to make gil but you need to work for it..If you dont want to put in the work that other people did to be able to buy their house than you should not have one. It may sound harsh to you but its how I see it. If this would have been about lending the rest of the gil you need to be able to buy your house than this might have been a bit different..but hoping to get most of it through this is just bad in my eyes.

Why don't you guys level a few crafting classes collectively to make money? Two weeks + 7 people is all it takes. Craft each other materials needed for leveling. A glamour crystal goes for at least 5k gil. It would only take one or two days of sales to make back the money spent on leveling 1-50. Then it's pure profit.
