This. You wanna look for 1, 2, 3 for 10k or 9, 8, 7 for 3,600 if the 10k isn't there.

That's exactly how I thought it would be run - all numbers entered would be put into a draw to guarantee at least one winner per week. The prize is so low (relative to a real lottery system) it seems strange to do it as a Random Number Pool system.

In my opinion no harm would be done if getting 3 last digits right (2nd place) gave the 1 mil price. Statistically only 10% of players get 2nd place at least once within two years so it's not like we would be swimming in MPG. It would just give a more realistic chance of getting fenrir and achievements. MGP is not tradeable so more winners doesn't lead to more inflation or anything, just more enjoyment.

it's fine as is. A .0001 chance of winning a Lottery is a very good odd. Ever play the real lottery? Looking at a past MMO you had FFXI Mog Bonanza You had to guess 5 numbers correctly and it only came around ~2 a year not every week.

It's not a real lottery though, and it's not even dealing in a primary currency, it's just MGP. It's incredibly un-fun to get nothing but the consolation prize every single week.

The lottery should have a higher cumulative payout than the scratchcards. It's utterly ridiculous that my total winnings from scratchcards since the GS went live is around 800k MGP, whilst my total from the cactpot is a mere few thousand!

I don't even bother doing this anymore. I've never ever won anything except third place like once back when it first came out. Week after week after week it was always the sad consolidation prize, so I lost interest.

there is nothing to rework if the high prizes are always impossible to get, I usually get like 115, 34 and then 200 points so I lose points by doing it.

My two cents: I agree with the people who are saying there's no need to make the jackpot easier to win. Jackpots should be rare and special. But, especially with all of the boosts to MGP earnings that they just put in, they really need to make some adjustments to the cactpot. One or (preferably) both of the following would be good to see.

- Boost the payout of the lower tier results, especially the consolation prize. The fact that you get to do this only once per week and 90% of the time you get a payout that's less than what you would get from a mediocre placement in a single chocobo race and about a tenth of what you would get from completing one GATE is ridiculous.
- Make the matching structure more forgiving. The thing where your whole ticket is irrelevant if the ones digit doesn't match is far too punishing of a system. At minimum it should bump you up a tier for each digit in your number that matches the same digit in the drawn number.

The problem with that method is that people would start to band together to all choose the same numbers. This would boost the odds of winning significantly. Any system that isn't left to complete RNG, players will find an exploit and abuse it.
