3.25 release date March 29th?

The relic weapons are usually only 5 ilv lower than current top-tier weapons. My guess is this patch will bring us up to i240, and then shortly after the final Alex is released we'll be able to get the relic up to 5 ilv below that, and then come the final 3.x patch, we'll be able to upgrade the relic to the same ilv as the raid weapons. There will probably be multiple steps involved (so we'll probably go from i210 to i230 and then i240 within 3.25) but I am sure the ultimate cap for the relic weapons will stay 5 ilv below raid weapons until the raid weapon ilv increases with the next raid.

ETA This is all just based on the Zeta weapon progression, and SE even admitted they messed up with this relic weapon's progression. So I doubt they're going to make people with a relic have to stay at i230 until 3.35 because at that point nobody will do the relic, because they'll never become better than the tome weapons. (Sub-stats aside.) They'll pretty much have to make people be able to hit i240 in 3.25 or else they run the risk of very few people participating in content they've released for the sake of people participating in it.

As a casual player I like relics more just because of the sheer beauty ;) My Majestas is lovely.

What ever your smoking i want some, the Majestas is the worst designed weapon for its class, it does not look or conform to the WHM style or lore...also looks horrible. Afaik yes the relic will catch up but imo i doubt it will be worth the effort, for certain classes it will be a good choice but i highly doubt they will put the right stats on. And if they do another materia for ur stats then it wont be 240..more like 230.

I doubt it will be 245 in 3.3. They usually don't tack on the last 5 item levels (to make it equal in strength to the Raid weapon) until the very last patch before the next raid cycle begins (so expect it in 3.37 or 3.38, if they're going to make a 245 stage at all).

I think will be, accoding to Lore/Alex/Extreme item level progresion:

3.25 -> 220 / 230 (two steps)
3.35 -> 240
3.45 -> 250 / 260 (two steps)
3.55 -> 270 / 275 (last tier before 4.0)

I think on 3.25 it will be ilvl 230 or 5

and by the next before 3.4 it will be 245.

yep probably will look like that...


looking at ilvls....., we are going to end at ilvl300 this expansion or what .....wonder what ilvl we are going to hit in 4.0 ...probably 500?

I think we will finish on 270 for gear, 275 for Alex weapons. Following the scheme:

Tomestones of Law: 170 (180 upgraded)
Tomestones of Esotheric: 200 (210 upgraded)
Tomestones of Lore: 230 (240 upgraded)
Tomestones of ????: 260 (270 upgraded) (for the 3.4 patch)

Alexander Gordias 190 (210 Savage)
Alexander Midas: 220 (240 Savage)
Alexander ¿Frigia?: 250 (270 Savage)

Bismark Ex: 175
Ravana Ex: 190
Thordan Ex: 205
Sephirot Ex: 220
Sophia Ex: 235
Zurvan Ex: 250

As you can see, +30 for each gear tier and +15 Primal Ex weapons. I'm suppossing will be till 3.5 patch like ARR.

Of coruse, maybe will be a completely different tiers.

I think it's gotta be 235 at least for the next relic step, if not 240. Otherwise, what's the point?

If they are releasing another upgrade during the 3.3 patch cycle then going up to only 230 could make sense this patch, and 240 on the next one as there won't be an ilvl increase in general till the last Alex raid.
