The Praetorium is so messed up place.

My very first run was so awful as tank sprout.

First pack of mobs, everybody skip them and I was the only one with the aggro. Impossible to click on the switch to teleport to the next place, because mobs kept attacking me then I die. "oh yea, we skip everything here" "yea I noticed that"

Then when you manage to join the group, there's a part where you have to get a key-card to unlock the Garlean Mount cutscene. I thought a single person clicking on it would be good enough, but nope, I had to backtrack all the way.
Got made fun of for being so far behind, but honestly what else could happen when it's the first time you run this ? It reminded me way too much of Shadowlands' dungeons or just WoW dungeons, it's just a speedrun.

I had to do it twice on the roulette, so I can understand the others, it takes way too long for not much in return.

The dungeon before Praetorium has the same problems, but Praetorium really takes the cake. Worst experience I had so far to the point I couldn't even enjoy the story/cutscenes the first time I ran it.

Just further proof this shouldn’t require other people to run at all, as it’s a waste of everyone’s time except for the cutscenes. Cutscenes can be soloed.

Since this thread was made back when cutscenes were still skipable I can't help myself...

Well, you won't ever get a Praetorium run where people won't rush. Because that's the norm for both it and Meridianum. And while you may think they should adapt.. the reality is, they won't and ultimately the majority decides how it goes. I started playing a year ago, have done both Praetorium and Castrum hundreds of times.. and never once have they not been a rush fest. Trust me, you'll get used to it when you get to do it every day for naught but a roulette.

Oh, I will however certainly agree that it is a thoroughly disappointing thing if you're in there for your story finale, I myself had the luck of being able to keep up with the rest when I did it, but it was a rather jarring change. Also worth noting.. the way these two dungeons work, yeah you'll never see it again.

If you get lost or fall behind the best thing to do is to just sit and wait. You'll still get to see all the cutscenes and relevant story, and once a boss fight starts up you'll get an option to teleport right to the boss room, then you'll be all caught up. All you'll miss out on is some pointless running.

Gameplay-wise these MSQ scenarios are kind of a derpy experience for both new players and veterans, but no matter what new players will still get all of the major story beats, which is pretty much all that matters there.

Player behavior in MSQ roulette often is far less than ideal.

How hard is it to put a sign for the key-card and tell everyone to get one or wait several seconds before using the lift? There are people that still have no idea what to do after doing it 2-3 times, because no one explained it.

How hard is it to not afk, while everyone else jumps on a mount? There already is already plenty of time to afk inside cutscenes. That is a person I would vote kick every single time.

I've been guilty of this after missing an elevator, taking it to find everyone gone, and then having to alt-tab out to google a guide to tell me where to go. I'm glad no one vote kicked me for that. I firmly believe that the number of players who maliciously AFK for a carry is grossly overexaggerated. Someone whose gearing strategy is to AFK through every single instance is going to take forever to accomplish whatever goal they have. I'm inclined to give players the benefit of the doubt.
